Xray Column – Getting into Summer season

The 31st installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj gives his thoughts about the first gas races of the year, that include the Neo race, Czech Masters and the Euro 1/10th scale ‘B’ Championships.

Even with the difficult economy, off-road racing remains a very strong racing class and seems to be expanding more every day. This is confirmed by the highly competitive and professional approach drivers take and you see this in their focus on the smallest details. The off-road market keeps growing and the battle between manufacturers is increasing as well. As we all have seen, there is new company offering an off-road car or truggy almost every week. The competition just gets tighter and stronger.

Swinging 6T’s – X-Factory X-60 Truck

Just like the other X Factory cars the X-60 (pronounced X Six-T) comes as a conversion kit which means you have to source a donor car before you can start to transform your boring rear motor truck into a fire breathing mid-motor race car.

Ultimate Racing Teflon gearbox grease

Ultimate Racing have released this Teflon gearbox grease, a sticky grease specially formulated to cover the pinions contact surfaces with a Teflon layer. Because of its high adhesive properties, it enables the grease layer to stay on the pinions surface ensuring their lubrication even at high revolutions.

Team Titan M-Chassis EP Racing body shell

Team Titan have released a new 1/10th M-Chassis EP Racing body shell. Designed to fit 168mm wide electric M-Chassis with a 210mm wheel base it comes with pre marked tower holes for the Active Hobby A210SS, which they claim is the perfect match for this body in terms of size and performance. Made from 0.8mm clear polycarbonate it is supplied with window mask and high quality light decals.

RB Limited Edition Pit Box

Pioneering the whole purpose made pit box some years ago, and updating it early last year, RB have released a new limited edition version of their box which the company showed for the first time at this years toy fair. The ultimate tool for serious racers, it has spots for the fuel gun, fuel bottle, wrenches, starter box and anything else you need to carry with you into the pit lane. The ultra limited edition box features a new ‘Team 09’ design skin, made with fluorescent orange, to make your aluminium pit box really stand out.

JConcepts Dare for Traxxas Slash

JConcepts have released their short course Dare body shell for the Traxxas Slash. As with the SC10 version, the cab, bed and fenders are all areas of focus and in addition, one of the highlights of the styling cues includes extra fender clearance to eliminate troublesome tire rubbing issues. Made from clear heavy-duty polycarbonate with a protective film, it is supplied with window masks and a detailed decal sheet.

BMI Racing DB12RR LiPo Edition

As the use of LiPo batteries in the 1/12th scale class has been gaining ground and sanctioning bodies and manufacturers have begun standardizing cell formats, BMI Racing have finally developed a new version of the DB12RR for this class. The LiPo edition features a lower chassis that has been optimized to locate and retain a 4000mah 3.7v LiPo pack. The chassis has had the slot dimensions adjusted to match the pack as well as pocketing of the chassis to lower the pack for optimum center of gravity.
