Russian company Micro RC (MRC) have announced the release of this new prototype body shell and wing for the Team Associated B4 electric buggy. Designed to allow brushless speed controllers with cooling fans, to comfortably fit under, the body’s front window and rear V-wing help the car remain stable on long jumps. Robitronic have released this new starter box as an addition to their current range, called the Special off road starter box. Made using a metal casing, the durable rubber starter wheel is driven by two 775 electric motors and the whole system is powered by two 7.2v stick packs. Utilising an easy to adjust car mounting bracket system, the moulded plastic end of the box sports an integrated handle for ease of transport.

Alien Power has released some new stock spec series cells which have been pushed and matched in a similar way to their previously released EP4600 cells. Specially developed for stock drivers they have really high voltage rates that have been enhanced using the company’s proprietary voltage increasing system that permanently alters the internal structure of the cell, resulting in increased voltage and lower internal resistance. Cycling and matching is also done on the latest state of the art computerized equipment which is continuously monitored and calibrated at scheduled intervals to ensure the most accurately matched cells. Available in 4 cell, 5 cell and 6 cell sets.

Xray have announced some new additions to their already extensive range of silicone oils, thus allowing ultra-fine setting of shocks or differentials. For extra-fine shock setting adjustment for buggy, truggy and touring cars they have released some 550cst oile, while for extra-fine diff settings for buggy & truggy there are new 6000cst, 8000cst and 15000cst.

New for the Xray M18 range of is this graphite main driveshaft made from top-grade graphite material. A direct replacement for the standard aluminum driveshaft, it has a lighter rotating mass (55% lighter than the alu driveshaft) resulting in much quicker accleration while precision balancing gives vibration-free running. Designed for the Lightning 2 buggy Series, and other 1/8th scale buggies, Hot Bodies have introduced these all new Big Bore Shocks. With a larger shock body, wider pistons and more oil, the shock absorbers have vastly improved damping characteristics over standard-size buggy shocks, and the all-new design makes them easier to work on with long times between rebuilds. The shock bodies are threaded for quick changes to the ride height using a knurled purple-anodized adjustment nut, and the upper shock bladder helps keep the oil clean and rebound levels consistent. An o-ring sealed, threaded bottom cap secures the bottom of the shock from mud and dust, and dual silicone o-rings with a super-soft rubber boot help too. The shock shaft uses a locknut to keep the 6-hole shock piston in place. A full set of shock pistons with 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5mm holes is included, plus mounting hardware to bolt these puppies right onto any Lightning or other 1/8th rallycross buggy.

Serpent have introduced a new WC version of their Centax III clutch system and updated 2-speed gearbox system. The updated transmission uses the same pitch as before but has an improved tooth profile, which combined with a wider spur and pinion gear, gives better contact for better durability and power delivery. The steel clutch bell housing has also been updated with the pinions no longer forming the structure of this area but are instead attached the steel threads on the new bell. This ensures that the gears spin true and are much more resistant to any flexing in this area. As a result of this new bell, the front 2 bearings in the clutch have been changed and are now smaller in diameter compared to previous versions. The new WC transmission cannot be used together with the original spurs or pinion gears. A full range of spur gears (54T-56T, 59T-61T) and pinions (16T-18T, 21T-23T) are available separately.

Team Magic, who are developing a new 1/8th scale on road chassis, have shown images of the second version of their R8 prototype. After extensive testing, they have made some design changes to make the car more competitive and easier to drive. The big changes have been made to the front end, fuel tank, chassis, radio plate and numerous other small parts. Though not yet ready for production, TM believe that the car is getting better and better with each test.
