On the back of the release of their all new Ready to Run RDS 1:10 Competition Spec Drift car, Redcat is to also offer the RWD chassis as a Builder’s Kit. The RDS builders kit requires assembly and does not include a body, motor, ESC, radio system, steering servo, gyro, battery or charger. The kit is intended for serious drifters who want to build a capable drift chassis that they can add all of their favourite electronics and 200mm body to. The RDS can be set up for three different battery sizes; a competition style 2S shorty LiPo pack, LCG 2S shorty pack, or a standard sized 2S stick pack.
Redcat is releasing a competition spec rear wheel drive drift car, the Redcat RDS. The RDS is ready to run and includes all the necessary radio gear and electronics to get you on the track quickly. As most drift competitors already own several battery packs, the RDS does not include a battery or charger. It will accept a competition style 2S shorty LiPo pack, LCG 2S shorty pack, or a standard sized 2S stick pack. Redcat engineered the RDS, from the ground up, for a specific purpose, to compete. The lead engineer on the project, Shane Mikula, is a seasoned drifter who owns and operates a competition drift track/hobby shop. Mikula’s track, named TandemRC, is one of the top drift tracks in the US. Mikula has been at the centre of the drift scene for many years, getting direct feedback from fellow drifters. Through his own experience and others’, he’s definitely learned a thing or two about what competitive drifters are looking for in a competent car. Using this knowledge, the Redcat engineering team has developed a highly competitive rear wheel drive drift car that excels on surfaces which are found on many prepared RC drift tracks, such as carpet, p-tile, and polished concrete.
Redcat’s has released it’s popular LRH285 chassis as a slider in response to a growth in the RC lowriders scene. This is the same chassis used on the popular Redcat SixtyFour and FiftyNine hopping lowriders but with lots of chrome. Called the LRH285 Designers Show Kit, it includes an overwhelming amount of chrome parts making it the perfect kit for those who want to create their own show-worthy custom RC Hopping lowriders. Redcat lowriders are designed for slow cruising and performing hopping lowrider tricks that are possible because of the purpose built LRH285 chassis, which uses a realistically simulated hydraulic suspension. The LRH285 chassis replicates the unique movement of a full-size hopping lowrider. The LRH285 Designers Show Kit is a fully assembled slider and includes a LRH285 hopping lowrider chassis, brushed motor, servo horns, mounting hardware for your electronics. The kit is made to give builders an opportunity to craft their very own custom lowriders, so it does not include a body, wheels, tires, radio system, ESC, servos, battery or charger.
Redcat has released its latest offroader, the Gen9 – International Harvester 800A Trail Truck. Loaded with features, the Gen9 has a two speed transmission, newly designed portal axles, precision suspension geometry with zero bump steer, new compound tires, high torque steering servo, adjustable wheelbase and a highly detailed body with a rear pivot mounting design. It features a meticulously crafted officially licensed International Scout 800A body. Molded in three separate pieces which allow for a more realistic full depth interior, the body is internally braced and uses a rear locking pivot mechanism with dual quarter turn fasteners up front. In the interior, you’ll find an injection molded dashboard, front and rear seats, foot pedals, shifters, door levers, window cranks, removable steering wheel and there’s even a turn signal lever on the steering column. Redcat has taken the popular 1:8 scale Kaiju monster truck and extended its wheelbase, along with some additional changes. These changes include new belted tires, motor heatsink with fan, new motor mount, metal servo horn, rear wing, and a body that comes in white or copper. The EXT has a new and longer chassis which brings the wheelbase to 360mm. This gives the Kaiju EXT an additional 51mm of wheelbase over the original version which was an incredibly fun truck to drive, especially while using a 6S LiPo to perform standing backflips and pull wheelies at almost any speed. Don’t let the extended wheelbase fool you, the EXT is fully capable of the same backflips and even longer wheelies due to its added stability.
With this newest update, Redcat has given the Volcano EPX Pro a complete cosmetic makeover which includes a new body and wheels. The new 10-spoke wheels are durable and the white Redcat logos add to their aggressive styling. The Volcano EPX Pro is ready to run and includes a 3300KV RC540 brushless electric motor, waterproof 60A electronic speed controller (ESC), powerful 6Kg waterproof steering servo, and Redcat’s proven 2.4GHz radio system. The updated Volcano EPX Pro requires a 7.4V (2S) LiPo battery pack and a LiPo safe battery charger.
