1:8 Offroad Worlds coverage presented by RUDDOG

The 2-year wait is finally over and thanks to Ruddog Racing we have just arrived in Hutto, Texas, ready to spend the next 6 days telling the story of how the 20th running of the IFMAR 1:8 Offroad World Championship unfolds at Thornhill Racing Circuit. The eigth time we will report on the categories biggest race, this is the third time our coverage has been presented by Ruddog Racing. Based in Germany, Ruddog is a company steeped in offroad racing history being a distributor for 35-time World Champion manufacturer Team Associated and iconic offroad tyre brand JConcepts to name but a few. Founded in 2006 by Sven Rudig, the same year as Red RC joined the world wide web, as an avid offroad racer himself he has developed Ruddog into having their own product ranges such as Ruddog Racing which offers a line of nitro engines and electronics. They are also behind Revolution Design Racing Products which has established itself as a designer & producer of high-quality tuning parts that are hugely popular upgrades among offroad racers. 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the crowning of the inaugural 1:8 Buggy World Champion Frederic Vesseyre in France in 1986 and a decade since David Ronnefalk won the last US staged Worlds with victory in Las Vegas in 2016. As the current World Champion Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro will chase a record extending 4-in-row this week but the Italian faces strong opposition from US drivers all looking to become the first to win the sport’s biggest prize on home soil.

Ruddog 1:10 Offroad ‘Medium’ Inserts

Ruddog Products is expanding its tyre accessory line with four new 1:10 offroad tyre inserts that are developed to maximise the performance of buggies and stadium trucks. Available in the versatile “Medium” compound, these inserts provide a perfect balance of cornering speed, dampening, and forward traction. The new line-up includes insert options specifically sized for narrow 2WD front tyres (approx. 18mm width), standard width buggy front tyres (approx. 30mm width), rear 2WD/4WD tyres (approx. 40mm width), and Stadium trucks tyres (approx. 55mm width). Each option of inserts come in convenient 4-piece sets, equipping two complete pairs of tyres.

Ruddog Racing RR2 LiPo Battery Series

Developed in cooperation with their race team and leading offroad racer Joona Haatanen, Germany’s Ruddog Racing has introduced their new RR2 Lipo battery series. Featuring cutting-edge cell technology in the form of Silicon-Graphene cells this ensures minimal internal resistance and maximum power delivery. Specifically optimised cells for Stock classes ensure an extremely stable voltage curve throughout your entire run. LiHV Technology give more punch and higher top speeds thanks to the 7.6V nominal voltage of their LiHV models. The new range highlights are the 1:12 high-capacity 1S packs (8100mAh & 8700mAh), a massive selection of LCG shorties in 18.5mm, 20mm, and 22mm heights, and Onroad/Stick packs that are super low profile at just 17.5mm and their brand-new 10,000mAh capacity king. Haatanen switches to RUDDOG Racing Electronics

Top Finnish Offroad racer Joona Haatanen is making the switch to Ruddog Racing electronics for 2026. The career long Team Associated team driver has run the US manufacturer’s package of Reedy Electronics but following his joining of Ruddog Distribution as a full-time employee in early 2025, he will now run the German based Team Associated distributor’s full range of own brand Ruddog Racing electronics in his AE cars. This full performance package includes the RXS speed controller, Ruddog Racing motors, servos and LiPo packs.

Revolution Design B7 | T7 HD Suspension Mount C

New from Revolution Design comes these HD Suspension Mount C for Team Associated’s latest T7 and SC7 trucks, as well as updated B7 buggies equipped with the new 3-gear transmission. It offer racers enhanced durability and tuning options and is available in two variants, standard geometry and a -1° toe-in version. The mounts are machined from high-quality 7075 aluminium and offer a stronger, more robust design than the stock parts. The standard version maintains the factory suspension geometry and is ideal for most conditions. The -1° version reduces rear toe-in by 1° and is particularly suited for high-grip tracks, offering improved rotation and corner speed. Both versions feature refined design with extra material at critical stress points.

RUDDOG RPS Power Supply (750W | 62.5A | 12V)

Adding to its product line Ruddog has released this RPS Power Supply which delivers up to 750W at 12V and provides a continuous current of up to 62.5A giving modern multi channel chargers and high power pit setups a stable and reliable energy source. With three XT60 outputs, two classic 4 mm banana socket pairs as well as one USB A and one USB C port, it offers a versatile connection hub for chargers, fans, LED lighting and mobile devices. Intelligent fan control and extensive protection circuitry ensure safe and comparatively quiet operation, while the wide range 100 to 240V AC input makes it suitable for use at home, at the club and on international race trips. RUDDOG Racing RXB Blinky Stock ESC

German brand Ruddog Racing has added to its growing product range with the introduction of the RXB Blinky Stock Brushless Speed Controller. The RXB starts with a new connector and case layout that makes clean builds effortless. Side-mounted solder posts, a front sensor port, and integrated capacitors reduce wire length and clutter for lower resistance and better reliability. On track, the RXB delivers a precise throttle feel and linear braking in a compact 28g package. Its adjustable RPM limit lets clubs and event organisers define a single spec for different motors, turning the RXB into a true control ESC for fair and comparable racing. If a class runs 17.5T motors and the RXB is used as a handout or one-make ESC, you can set the RPM limit as mandatory. This is then shown by an additional colour LED while the blue LED continues to blink. This function can be disabled, so the ESC can be used without an RPM limit. Reverse polarity protection adds an extra layer of safety, while the adjustable 6.0 to 7.4 V BEC supports both standard and HV servos.
