Atsushi Hara announces SWorkz departure

Multiple World and National Champion, Atsushi Hara has announced his departure from off-road chassis sponsor SWorkz. Having joined Speedmaster Hobby Company, parent brand of SWorkz, at the beginning of 2014 and having a three year contract, Atsushi has terminated the contract effectively of October 31st. The reasons remain in the darkness and Hara so far left open what his next move will be. Atsushi states:

I have to announcement about terminate contract for SWorkz in between myself on 31st October 2015. I’d like to thank SWorkz owner Scott Yang and SWorkz USA team manager Marty Korn. It was great opportunities to start build for new brand SWorkz with them. I have such a great time to working with them and I had a lot of experience for many things. I never forget over my life those are great time for me. Also, Thanks to all of SWorkz distributors and SWorkz fans are great support! It will make me a big motivation for all time.

SWorkz S104 Evo 1/10th 4WD buggy

Following first S104 Evo prototype images that surfaced back in January SWorkz now have more photos of their forthcoming 1/10th 4WD electric off-road buggy available. Information on the kit are still vague with the only definite features announced yet being the FCSS aluminium chassis, new big bore shock absorbers and a 3-diff drivetrain. Looking at the images the buggy will also sport a floating servo mount, semi-gloss carbon fibre parts and a dedicated electronic layout for shorty LiPo battery packs. More information and images should become available in time for the release in mid-August.

SWorkz S350 & MBX7 steel skid plate

New from SWorkz and made to fit the S350 EvoII, FCSS chassis converted standard S350’s as well as Mugen’s MBX7 is a stainless steel skid plate. The plate protects the rear end of the chassis on abrasive surfaces from excessive wear while the slightly wider design keeps harm away from the rear suspension hanger. Countersunk holes allow for precise positioning of the plate on new or nearly new chassis plates.

SWorkz S102 Pro 2WD buggy

SWorkz introduce their latest 1/10th scale off-road project in the form of the S102 Pro 2WD buggy kit. The vehicle, that was designed as a cost-effective platform for both club and top-level racers alike, builds on a 3mm 7075 aluminium chassis with composite side rails that allows of up to ten different battery configurations and positions in order to fine-tune the weight distribution according to personal preferences and track conditions. The gearbox is designed in a way that a simple gear insert is all that is needed to use the same transmission case for mid and rear motor configurations. Also included in the package will be SWorkz’ Pure Oil System bladder-free emulsion shock absorbers and the Eaglet body that can be used for mid and rear motor converted buggies. There are no information when the buggy will hit the stores but we keep you up to date as soon as more information become available.

SWorkz Concept S104 Evo 1/10th buggy

SWorkz introduce the Concept S104 Evo 4WD 1/10th scale buggy. Sporting a revised design with updated suspension geometry and shock absorbers the buggy makes also use of the FCSS and Evo 2 systems known from the company’s 1/8th scale buggies. The new stronger suspension arms also add durability and performance as does the standard centre differential that is easily replaced by a slipper clutch if conditions call for it. The buggy is meant to make a first appearance in the hands of SWorkz’s Atsushi Hara at the upcoming Reedy Race of Champions.

Carsten Keller & Christian Hahlen join SWorkz

German frontrunners Carsten Keller, European Championship A-finalist, and Christian Hahlen have joined SWorkz with Carsten also being supported by MW RC Cars. Carsten has the following to say about the deal:

At initial testing the quality of parts and car both convinced me. I’m looking forward to a great collaboration and a successful 2015.

SWorkz S350 Evo II kit features & detailed photos

SWorkz have more images and detailed features of their soon-to-be-released S350 Evo II 1/8th nitro buggy kit available. The latest incarnation of the S350 buggy features several improvements such as new 16mm BBS shock absorbers with new soft springs, updated lower A-arms with a new shock geometry as well as Lightened Drive System driveshafts throughout. Included are also LDS compatible front steering knuckles and rear hubs, PSP aluminium upper steering bellcranks, a PSP aluminium throttle linkage set, aluminium upper arm mounts as well an updated fuel tank and an aluminium rear chassis brace mount. Included with the kit also comes the new Falcon II bodyshell.

Shin Adachi joins SWorkz nitro team

Shin Adachi joins SWorkz nitro team

SWorkz announce the signing of Japanese frontrunner Shin Adachi to their nitro racing team. Shin will be racing the national nitro series in 2015, starting his new endeavour in Pattaya this coming weekend joining fellow SWorkz racer Atsushi Hara. Shin said “I am very excited to be given this chance to race with SWorkz. Thank you SWorkz and Scott. I will do my best”
