Orlowski caps off ETS title with 10th consecutive win

Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski completed an impressive unbeaten run in the ETS over the weekend as he notched up win number 10 in as many races.  Having already successfully defended his Modified title at the previous round in Germany, at the season finale in Austria the Pole would wrap up the season with the TQ and victory.  Making the switch back to carpet for the event following his impressive TITC debut win last month,  Orlowski topped all four qualifiers to secure the TQ ahead of Mugen Seiki’s Ronald Volker and Awesomatix Marc Rheinard.  While he got the better of Orlowski with his new MTC-3 at the recent MIBO International, in the final Volker could do nothing about the pole sitter and backing up his A1 win another, albeit closer win, in A2 the fifth round was decided.  Winning A3 from Rheinard, Volker would finish P2 for the round but in the overall in the championship he finished third behind Rheinard.  In Pro Stock Sören Sparbier gave Mugen their second win with the new MTC-3 to finish runner-up in the championship behind Awesomatix’s Lukas Ellerbrock who ccomplete the podium in Vienna behind Xray’s Adam Izsay.  In FWD, 4th place was enough for Schumacher’s Márk Valent to secure the title ahead of Yokomo’s Frederik Hovgaard while victory at the fifth round saw Phil Langner complete the Championship Top 3.

Schumacher Icon 2 1/10th Competition F1 car

Schumacher have introduced their new Icon 2, 1/10th Competition Formula car. The Icon platform is BRCA National winning and MICC championship dominating. Thanks to this and a vast amount of racing experience from their strong team of drivers and engineering team, the Icon 2 is the natural evolution of an already fantastic chassis. It boasts a wide range of new refinements to increase performance, reduce lap times and improve durability beginning with a new gear differential offering improved cornering ability in the majority of conditions. On power steering is improved along with corner entry stability. The car will also drive much flatter and have more predictability in high traction conditions. The ball differential can still be used and is likely to be an improvement only in very low traction conditions. The is also a new left hand rear wheel clamp design. This new one piece, rotationally balanced design is lighter, simpler and the perfect match for our new gear differential. It may also be used with the ball differential. An all new design for the rear wing mounting assembly, features 7075 Aluminium lower, and C/F upper components. Style, centre of gravity, durability and stiffness has been improved in this area. Other new items include V2 damper rods with a much larger internal hole diameter, new side link mounts for increased durability, new front end chassis posts for increased durability, and a new simplified and stylish front wing mounting using thread inserts.

Willspeed RF2 conversion for Cougar LD2

Willspeed have produced their RF2 conversion for the Schumacher Cougar LD2. The conversion platform was designed and manufactured by engineers and racers alike for the true ultimate in performance on medium to high traction surfaces. The RF2 design focuses on moving the weight bias forwards by utilising a 5 gear transmission which allows the motor position to be moved further forwards creating a smaller located area of main mass which aids to control weight transfer. The billet aluminium tub chassis is the ultimate in chassis design, the centre of gravity is super low, the chassis has no additional guards or stiffeners removing unwanted tweak and is self integrally stiff. The aluminium selected for its natural dampening properties this not only allows for an incredibly agile platform its also super predictable. The end result, a platform that not only loves corner speed but it is also dependable and predictable lap after lap making going fast, easy.
