In an effort to constantly improve the performance of their cars, Shepherd have introduced these extremely light diff pins for the Velox V10 made from high quality 7075 T6 aluminium. For improved durability and a longer life the pins are hard coated while the weight has been reduced by about 65% compared to the normal pins.

Shepherd Micro Racing have announced that Swiss star Simon Kurzbuch has extended his contract with them for another two years. The World and European Championship main finalist will continue to use the Velox V8 at various national and international events including the European Championship A in Portugal. Together with his father and brother as mechanics he will also help the Shepherd team to improve their products by giving assistance on testing new items. Simon had the following to say:
I’m looking forward to racing another two years for Team Shepherd. The A-Final at the WC in Miami and at the EC in Luxemburg were definitely the highlights of the last season. This hadn’t been possible without the good support and cooperation of the whole team. I would like to thank Team Shepherd and my two fantastic mechanics.

Stephane Bouche has rejoined Team Shepherd for the 2012 season. After one year away the front running Frenchman has switched back to the German manufacturer using the Velox V8 in the upcoming season. Stephane plans to attend both Euros A and B as well as all rounds of the French National Expert Championship giving support to all fellow Shepherd drivers. Stephane has the following to say:
I’m really enjoying to come back to the Team Shepherd for 2012 after 1 year of transition. The Velox V8 “eleven” is really successful and I hope to have some good results for the Euro B in France and Euro A in Portugal next year. Shepherd Micro Racing has introduced another line of foam tires, ‘Shepherd tires by Matrix’. For several reasons they are a class of their own. Already before the first step of the production an intensive quality management ensures an excellent performance of the tires as all raw material are checked with special equipment to guarantee the correct shore hardness. The computer aided manufacturing makes sure that all tires meet the high quality standard. A special lightproof and airtight packing foil allows the tires to be stocked for a long time without affecting the quality or performance of the tires. The final result is a tire that has excellent traction combined with low tire wear. They will be available on white standard rims as well as on black carbon rims. The carbon rims are about 12% lighter while the stability is also increased.

Shepherd have introduced their ceramic-eccentric set for the Velox V8. This set includes 16 ceramic ball bearings for a smoother and free drivetrain as well as increased longevity. With the eccentrics it’s possible to change the position of the wheel axle giving more setup options to the user. Special 12x16x0,1mm shims are also included to fine tune the play of the wheel axle.

Shepherd racer Choi Nak Sung has won the annual KMRCA National 1/8th On-Road Championship which took place at the Oh-Chang Hitec Circuit near Oh-Chang in South Korea. The race which is considered the most important race of the season attracted 40 drivers in total. During qualification Choi Nak Sung showed a good performance taking the TQ spot with his Velox V8 “eleven”. In the final Sung was unchallenged leading from start to the checkered flag crossing the finishing line 3 laps in front of the rest of the drivers field.

Following intensive testing at some of the biggest events in 1/8 scale, Pirani RC have released its new 8mm gear-shaft develop for Shepherd V8 Eleven. Designed and produced by Andrea Pirani this complete conversion kit increases engine performance in high traction condition. This kit increases the transmission of power from engine to drive wheels and the kit includes new aluminium 7075-T6 side support, new hard-coated steel shaft, new low friction kevlar pulley and new light weight gear box.
Shepherd are happy to introduce their new low friction kevlar pulleys for the Velox V8. After extensive testing a material was found that fullfills their high expectations regarding quality and durability. Oliver Mack drove more than 150 kilometers with one set of kevlar pulleys at the Euros A in Luxembourg when he ended up in 5th position after bumping up three times and the pulleys still looked great. These low friction pulleys provide a better and smoother rotation of the drivetrain to improve the acceleration of the V8 and are available for all pulleys, except for the rear solid axle, as a complete set or separately.
