New from Japan’s SMJ is this low aluminium shock spring retainer. It has been designed for use with shock springs with an inside diameter of 13.0~14.0mm and allows the shock spring to be installed 1mm lower than standard retainers. The retainer is finished in a high-grade matte black.

SMJ has added to its Stealth Line Lefty Spring range with the newly developed TS Series. The materials and manufacturing process of the conventional SMJ Stealth Line spring have been revised to achieve a smooth initial movement at the beginning of the roll. The TS Series provides excellent traction and stable grip on all surfaces. With am overall length of 20mm and wire diameter of 1.4mm, 7 spring rates are available.

Japanese brand SMJ has released a new 1:8 Onroad engine, the Kabuto R21. The new Kabuto R21 engine has undergone a detailed review and evolution. While maintaining the smooth and easy-to-use characteristics of the previous Kabuto R21 engine, the improved crankshaft delivers more torque in the mid- and low-speed range along with better idling performance, resulting in stable and easy-to-use performance even during long race races. The lightweight outer head, with its superior cooling performance, features a special graphic design. There is also the option to order the Japanese made engine pre-broken in by “YURUGIX”, a pioneer of pre-broken-in engines that has earned the trust of top drivers.
SMJ has developed a new Stealth Line Lefty Spring RL Series. Materials and manufacturing methods have been reviewed and updated from the previous SMJ Stealth Line springs to achieve a more smooth initial movement in the early stages of roll. The behaviour of the car on and off power is more settled, and overall rear stability is improved. The overall spring length is 27mm with a wire diameter 1.7mm with a RL5.9 and a RL6.1 option available.

SMJ has introduced two High Traction Shock Spring Spacers options for 1:10 electric touring cars. Simply place above or below the shock spring to improve grip and traction. The spacers allow for fine adjustment of grip without changing the shock spring. Type A is the aggressive type with excellent response while Type M is a mild type.

SMJ has released a new thicker version of their foam car stand. At 20mm, it leaves the car sitting 6mm higher than the previous version to allowing for more versatile use. Measuring 300 x 90 x 20 mm, the stand can be used for both 1:10 and 1:8 onroad cars with the Japanese company highlighting it for 1:10 Nitro pit work and engine adjustment.
SMJ have added a 1.5mm option of their rubber mount spacers. Since its release, the “Rubber Body Mount Spacer” has been well-received for its easy body height adjustment. Now the ‘Rubber Body Mount Spacer’ is available in a 1.5mm thickness in 10, 12 and 14mm options. Combined with the existing 1.0mm version, it allows for easier and finer height adjustment of the body.

Japanese company SMJ has released these front fender stiffeners for touring car body shells. The stiffener plate increases the rigidity of the front fender (front wheel arch), which greatly affects the steering characteristics of a touring car body, and also prevents body damage due to contact between the tires and the body. The teflon tape applied to the surface minimises resistance when it comes in contact with the tire, allowing for smooth cornering without stalling. It is especially recommended for ultra-lightweight bodies.
