Video – Associated B5 Introduction

During the past weekend’s JConcepts Winter Indoor Nationals at SmacTrac in St Louis, Missouri, Team Associated’s Brent Thielke and JConcepts’ Jason Ruona gave us a first insight into the brand-new Team Associated B5, the follow-up model of the hugely successful B4 buggy. The new platform is based off the design ideas of the B4 but offers a lot more tuning options to make it easier for drivers to adapt the vehicle to different surfaces and track conditions. Being available as rear motor kit first, as it was raced at SmacTrac, there will soon also be a mid motor version for high-bite and European style tracks too. RSD TC6.2 bumper and brace kit

The RSD TC6.2 bumper and brace kit from Reflex Racing is designed to add front end protection to the Team Associated TC6.2 car. By raising and elongating the bumper brace, the brace now butts up against the front bulkhead providing support to the bottom bumper screws, preventing chassis de-lamination in hard frontal collisions. Included in the set are a new foam bumper, the upper carbon fibre bumper brace and mounting hardware.

Joakim Nicolaisen teams up with Associated & Reedy

Team Associated announce that Joakim Nicolaisen has chosen Team Associated and Reedy products to further his racing career in 2014. Joakim is a very talented and diverse driver competing in a whole range of 1/10th scale classes. Known mainly for his off road exploits but not adverse to competing competitively in the on road classes also. A very likeable and conscientious young driver who is continuously moving forward. Joakim is continually improving his skill set and is now one of the more senior members of the race team at a ripe old age of 17. Joakim has a quiet drive and determination when it comes to racing and we love that he a calming influence on the rest of the team. Team Associated welcome Joakim with open arms and look forward to seeing what he can bring to the team in the coming years.

RDRP RC10 Classic fibreglass option parts set

Revolution Design Racing Products introduce this fibreglass option parts set for the Team Associated RC10 Classic kit. The set contains a new front and rear shock tower, both of which are of an updated design and offer additional shock mounting positions compared to the stock items. Also included is a large battery mount for a more secure battery fitment and also a transmission brace that replaces the unsightly nylon plate of the original kit. All parts fit without modification on the RC10 Classic and all vintage 6-gear RC10 kits. The shock towers and battery brace also suit all RC10 with Stealth transmission.

Team Associated B5 & B5M aluminium screw sets

Team Associated have first option parts for the new B5 2WD buggy available in the form of two lightweight aluminium screw sets. Available for both the B5 and B5M the kits contain several blue anodised aluminium screws with countersunk and button heads to replace the original black steel fasteners with lighter and cooler looking items.

JConcepts C4.2 narrow rear suspension mounts

JConcepts has dropped an additional option for C4.2 owners with the release of the narrow rear pivot suspension kit. The C4.2 comes stock with a slightly wider rear suspension pivot geometry which allows the vehicle to react appropriately in extremely high-grip conditions. However, when the traction is lower, additional swing is needed in the rear-end and justifies the narrow rear pivot suspension. By decreasing the size of the camber link, inner pivot virtual rectangle, the buggy transitions left to right quicker, applying force against the rear tires giving that moment of forgiveness. Drivers feel more confident as traction breaks allowing them to power down slightly quicker transitioning into a forward moment. This setup is especially good in medium to high traction conditions which drivers see on outdoor and indoor tracks throughout the year. The narrow pivot mounts must be used in conjunction with the #2323 C4.2 rear suspension kit to take full advantage of the rear suspension geometry. All parts, such as the front and rear plates and the pivot bushings are also available separately.

Team Associated have announced that their Stealth 3-gear transmission is now available as a kit and is perfect for adding performance to your RC10 Classic or to freshen up your vintage buggy. This new edition of the Stealth transmission kit offers higher performance and more durability than ever before with the addition of the Factory Team V2 slipper clutch. Also included is a super smooth adjustable ball differential that helps manage the power in the corners. The Stealth transmission kit comes ready to build and uses the same motor plate that is already in your RC10.

Team Associated RC10 World’s Car re-release

Team Associated RC10 World's Car re-release

Following the original “gold tub” RC10 Classic kit Team Associated soon have another off-road icon available in the form of the 1993 IFMAR Worlds winning RC10 World’s Car kit. Originally released after winning the World Championships in the hands of a young Brian Kinwald, the 2014 version will resemble the good old days of RC car racing by featuring a machined black anodised aluminium chassis, black colour suspension components, the 3-gear Stealth transmission and a replica of the sought after RCPS Turbo Mirage body shell. The 2014 version will feature some refinements and improvements though in the form of V2 shock absorbers, updated CVD driveshafts, a dual pad slipper clutch, and 1-piece wheels. It is understood that the World’s Car is a limited edition release and that the kit will hit the stores around April.
