Associated RC Cheat Sheets iPhone app

Team Associated have released their RC Cheat Sheets iPhone app. Now you can quickly understand how to adjust your RC car, buggy or truck settings for optimum tuning. Within a range of tuning options, which is better, a higher number or lower? Thicker or thinner? How will a longer or shorter adjustment change the handling? If you keep scratching your head trying to remember, then you need to download this app. For those of us who haven’t yet grasped the theory and physics of the tuning possibilities behind the many setup options, RC Cheat Sheets, with its 100+ cheat sheets and 70+ full-color photos, will give you shortcuts to the information you need to make changes intelligently and quickly. This app puts valuable information at your fingertips for off road, on road and oval styles and electric and nitro vehicles. This app useful for a wide range of RC brands, not just Team Associated vehicles.

Toy Fair 2011 – Associated

Taking the spotlight on the Associated stand was the just recently announced SC10 4×4 4-wheel drive truck. It features a composite modular chassis design with sealed receiver box and removable ESC tray, combined with 13mm big bore shocks, a decoupled slipper clutch and a hybrid belt/gear drive system. Apart from this completely new product the rest of the stand showed off their increasing range of SC trucks including the SC8e, SC10 2wd and the mini SC18, showing that this is an important market segment for AE.

Keven Hébert re-signs to Reedy, Associated & LRP

Keven Hébert has signed a 2 year extension to his contract to run Reedy LiPo batteries, Team Associated’s TC6 & 12R5.1 and LRP brushless systems. Reedy department manager Rick Hohwart was excited to be able to continue working closely with Keven, saying, “Keven is not only a driver who can win races, but who has been instrumental in the development of the TC6 and 12R5.1 platforms. He is not only fast, but is always willing to help others with setups and questions concerning motor and ESC gearing and tuning, as well as battery care and maintenance. He is a great asset and an excellent representative of the Reedy brand.” Keven was excited about the signing, saying:

Reedy, Team Associated and LRP have supported me for the last three years, which has allowed me to get where I am today. I am very happy to be with such a strong team for the next two years. I have made many friends at Reedy/Team Associated/LRP and I would like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to keep doing what I like the most.

Associated 2011 flatbill hats

Team Associated have released its all-new 2011 flatbill hats. Black with a blue-trimmed white Team Associated logo, these FlexFit Technology hats come in two sizes, Small/Medium (6 7/8-7 1/4″) and Large/X-Large (7 1/4-7 5/8″).

JConcepts T4.1 Punisher body

The Punisher body by JConcepts for the Associated T4.1 is designed to increase on track performance with its aggressive hood and cab placement for added down force. The bed area is also designed with performance in mind, there are designated areas to cut out to help reduce the dreaded parachute effect and stabilizer fins for added stability on high speed tracks. Paul Wynn and Zach Genova debuted the new body in punishing fashion at the 2010 ROAR Region 4 Championship. Every round of qualifying was TQ’d with the Punisher body as well as taking the top two positions in the A-main.

Schools Open for Associated Juniors

The UK Team Associated on road team are pleased to announce the formation of a new driver development programme, the Associated Junior Academy will consist of four new drivers who work closely along side Olly Jefferies, Alan Bickerstaff, Steve Lander and Chris Slater. The team enjoyed a great deal of junior success this year helping Zak Smith to a top three place in the pro stock class of the BRCA national series. The driver programme will get underway at round one of next years BRCA touring car nationals but drivers are hoped to be announced and working with the team by early 2011. Drivers will be selected on their ability to work as a team and their potential to develop within a structured programme, part of the project will be to run a celebrity car at selected BRCA touring car national meetings, already named for the celebrity car is multiple champion Craig Drescher and CML managing director Jason Varley.

Ryan Maifield extends deal with Associated, Reedy & LRP

Just a week ahead of the 1/8th scale buggy World Championships, Team Associated have announced that Ryan Maifield has extended his contract which sees him continue with Associated, Reedy and LRP products. Over the years, Maifield has won countless titles, including multiple ROAR National Championships in a wide variety of categories, including 1:8 Gas Buggy, 1:8 Electric Buggy, 1:8 Gas Truggy, 2WD Electric Truck, 2WD Short Course and 4WD Electric Buggy. When asked about his re-signing, Maifield had this to say:

Team Associated has been behind me since the beginning of my racing career, and during the highs and lows they have always been supportive and constructive. I have many friends at Associated that are 100% committed to me and the products they produce, so it was a no-brainer when it came to sign a new contract to stay with the company that has been there through it all. I want to thank everyone at Team Associated and all the Team Associated customers for their support. I’ll see you at the track soon with my Reedy- and LRP-powered Associated vehicles.

Team Manager, Brent Thielke, and long-time friend of Ryan, had this to say about the re-signing: “All of us here at Team Associated are excited to continue our relationship with Ryan. We look forward to supporting him as he continues to grow as a racer and ambassador for the sport we all have an unwavering passion for.”
