Taking the spotlight on the Associated stand was the just recently announced SC10 4×4 4-wheel drive truck. It features a composite modular chassis design with sealed receiver box and removable ESC tray, combined with 13mm big bore shocks, a decoupled slipper clutch and a hybrid belt/gear drive system. Apart from this completely new product the rest of the stand showed off their increasing range of SC trucks including the SC8e, SC10 2wd and the mini SC18, showing that this is an important market segment for AE.
Keven Hébert has signed a 2 year extension to his contract to run Reedy LiPo batteries, Team Associated’s TC6 & 12R5.1 and LRP brushless systems. Reedy department manager Rick Hohwart was excited to be able to continue working closely with Keven, saying, “Keven is not only a driver who can win races, but who has been instrumental in the development of the TC6 and 12R5.1 platforms. The Punisher body by JConcepts for the Associated T4.1 is designed to increase on track performance with its aggressive hood and cab placement for added down force. The bed area is also designed with performance in mind, there are designated areas to cut out to help reduce the dreaded parachute effect and stabilizer fins for added stability on high speed tracks. Paul Wynn and Zach Genova debuted the new body in punishing fashion at the 2010 ROAR Region 4 Championship. Every round of qualifying was TQ’d with the Punisher body as well as taking the top two positions in the A-main.
