RC Maker touring car floating electronics plates

RC Maker have introduced their new adjustable electronics mounting plates for most of today’s 1/10th electric touring cars. The floating brass mount with central attachment allows for fully floating electronics with absolutely minimal flex interference, giving symmetrical flex, which is not possible in conventional layouts. The plates make it incredibly easy to swap chassis plates, as electronics stay fixed to the plate, making it only two screws to swap all electronics over, without messing with tape. The unique design is making it very easy to swap between chassis manufacturers and try different plates all without having to buy entire new kits while offering left-to-right chassis balance adjustment. Different fastening inserts allow for even greater versatility without the need to buy a whole new set again. Same with changing to different plates and centre weights, they are all compatible with each-other. Beside the double-sided design, RC Maker also offers a single sided set with 4mm of adjustability left and right to adjust the balance bias of the car. Used for the electronics only it allows to tune the chassis balance, and also move weight in or out both sides to adjust the amount of roll in the chassis depending on the traction level. In addition to the brass double and single-sided sets, RC Maker also offer the brass plates separately to conversion double into single and single into double-sided designs. Optional carbon fibre option plates make for reduced overall mass if needed while an optional +10g centre weight adds further weight tuning options. Supported cars include the Yokomo BD8 and BD9, Xray T4 2017 to 2019, Team Associated TC7.1 and TC7.2, Tamiya TRF419X, Awesomatix A800X, Infinity IF14, Xpress XQ1, Mugen MTC1 and ARC R11’19.

JConcepts B6.1 P2K buggy body shell

JConcepts have introduced their new P2K body shell for the Team Associated B6.1 buggy. JConcepts has a rich history in the 2WD buggy class and a passion for the racing performance at the highest level. Throughout the years, the body development has evolved to include an array of features to produce results on a wide range of surfaces. The P2K is the latest body to come from the team produced for the latest generation of 2WD buggies. An evolution of the P2 body, the “K” is more sleek by removing rear down-force features to allow the buggy to turn on the tightest circuits and carpet and astro turf surfaces where traction is always plentiful. To address the latest high-grip conditions, the team put concentration on the rear section of the body allow some freedom of rotation. The entire centre section of the cab on the P2K has a channel based design to flow directly over the middle of the vehicle to stabilise the at-speed handling. The front of the cab, important to performance, includes the P2 position with heavily recessed front windshield. The JConcepts edge treatment remains on the side-capsule area for air-flow direction by the cab and pointing the force to the rear wing area. The chamfering stands out as a JConcepts design feature on every new shell, the P2K has those elements and in great positions for decals and paint allocation. The P2K takes into account the plastic spur gear cover on the B6.1 and drops over the included kit supplied setup. Rear louvers tuck into the rear stance of the shell which can always be customer trimmed for a slight amount of heat escape. The body is available in standard and lightweight variants and it comes including two Aero rear wings.

Exotek roll out new X1 & F6 optionals

Coming from Exotek are several new option parts for the Xray X1 and Team Associated F6 formula car kits. First up is a rear carbon fibre spool axle, usable on the X1 and F6. The extra lightweight carbon fibre and 7075 aluminium clamping spool set utilises a 1/4” rear axle design such as for the X1, F6 and also the Roche cars. The spool helps eliminate “diffing out” of the rear pod on extra high grip black carpet conditions and gives the car more corner exit speeds. The spool also greatly reduces the weight compared to a gear diff or standard ball diff for a cooler running motor and increased acceleration. The sturdy design eliminates any holes in the shaft for increased shaft durability and the spur gear mount keys directly into the supplied right side wheel clamp and makes for easier gear swaps as well. Also the right side wheel clamp uses 2-screws-style clamping which requires less force on the screws for better clamping force. The conversion requires a standard pan car ball diff type spur gear and the standard left side clamping hub.
