Adrien Bertin joins Team Orion

Adrien Bertin joins Team Orion

2-time IFMAR World Champion, French man Adrien Bertin has joined Team Orion to race its WASP CRF motors. The factory Kyosho racer has up until now raced for Sirio and in the last 2 years worked for the Italian Manufacturer in Italy so we presume this deal will mean a move to Geneva to work. This is a pretty big signing even by Team Orion standards.

Adrien will be supervising the development of the new Wasp CRF engine range. Adrien’s expertise in the field of nitro engines will ensure that Wasp CRF engines supply outstanding performance at race tracks around the world.

With Sirio the engine of choice for the Kyosho factory team, one must ask if Adriens future is with the Japanese company, perhaps, considering Josh Cyrul has managed to run with the WASP motor and continue to run Kyosho and of course why lose a top notch driver like Bertin over what engine he runs. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Team Orion Wasp CRF 12 Josh Cyrul edition

Team Orion Wasp CRF Josh Cyrul

Team Orion are coming out with a Josh Cyrul edition engine combo that includes WASP CRF .12 engine, exhaust system and CRF clutch (for HPI/Mugen??) all packed together in what seems to be a radio bag. I dont think the engine has been modified, the fact that it all comes together is what makes it special. If you want it, it comes out in Japan in December.

Team Orion carburettor fix for CRF Wasp REV .12 motor

Wasp 12 CRF carb

Team Orion have issued a statement on their site regarding their CRF Wasp REV .12 motor. They have upgraded the carburettor on the engine following “improvements developed by the CRF R&D department and Josh Cyrul himself”‘, “The modifications result in easier engine setup and more low end torque”.

Team Orion will replace the main needle holder for free to all customers and the updated carburetor body will be available for a nominal fee.

This all basically translates to “the carb doesnt work very well and its our fault, so let us quickly replace it and we can try and keep face”. All said, these things can and do happen and as it’s pretty unusual for a top company like Team Orion to have such problems so we wont make a fuss. Those who want the upgrade are advised to contact their local Team Orion office.
