Thunder Power TP1527PS power supply

The Thunder Power TP1527PS is a dual output AC to DC switching power supply that delivers up to 15V/300W or 27V/550W DC output from 100V to 230V input. It delivers enough current, up to 20A, to sufficiently run one large capacity battery charger or two smaller capacity battery chargers simultaneously. It also features a variety of safety features including low voltage input, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protections.

Thunder Power 1S 6800mAh 65C LiPo battery

Thunder Power announce the 1S 6800mAh 65C Advanced Energy Series LiPo battery pack for Oval and 1/12th carpet racing. Made to deliver more power and to run cooler the pack weights 150g and is 2C chargeable. Sporting dimensions of 92.5×46.5×18.5mm it comes with 4mm bullet-type connectors and is available from early October.

JJ Wang joins Thunder Power RC

Better known as a gas onroad racer new Thunder Power RC signing JJ Wang is making a name for himself throughout China as one of the rising stars of modified touring car and EP offroad. The 14 year old has launched his EP career with a 4th place finish in the FWD class at this year’s TITC race. Stepping up his game, powered by Thunder Power RC, JJ recently won the EP 4WD Short Course Truck and 2WD Buggy classes at the Horizon Hobby Cup. JJ will run Thunder Power RC Z3R motors and batteries to power his 2012-2013 racing season in China and at various International and US electric/LiPo events. JJ had this to say:

I’m very motivated and excited to join the Thunder Power RC team. I think their products have very high quality and I’m looking forward to using them in the upcoming season.

Toy Fair 2012 – Various 2

Thunder Power RC were showing the latest editions to their range of high end LiPo packs with the introduction of the Advanced Energy 6200mAh 65C 1S pack. The Advanced name means it has the lowest internal resistance and lowest operating temperatures and boasts more voltage, more run time and lightest weight in its class. Other packs include the Short 3800mAh 65C 2S Pro Race pack and the 5000mAh 65C Pro Race saddle pack. For the motor range there is the new Z3R4X 550 sized motor with balanced neodymium rotor and 0-50 degree adjustable timing. In the 1/8th BL category they have the Z3R8 with a ribbed aluminium heat sink can, balanced 4-pole neodymium rotor and will be available in 1400kv, 1900kv, 2100kv and 2400kv. Finally TP showed of their new TP1430C charger with 1000W/30A max charge and 100W max discharge.

Multi-Time, Swedish National Champion Magnus Vassmar has joined the Thunder Power Racing team for 2012. The Xray driver will be using Thunder Power Z3R motors, Pro Race batteries and the Thunder Power 820CD charging system. In 2011, Magnus successfully won several National events in his home country powered by Thunder Power RC. In addition to joining the TPRC team, the Vassmar Family business Autopartner will be distributing and selling Thunder Power products in Sweden.

Jörn Neumann joins Thunder Power RC

Multi-time, European Off-road Champion and Team Durango driver Jörn Neumann signed an exclusive sponsorship contract for 2012 for the use of TPRC batteries and chargers. The twenty year old from Germany has been a top contender at several major off-road events around the world. Thunder Power is happy to announce the addition of Jörn to our talented team of drivers. Jörn stated, “I am really happy to join the Thunder Power RC team and to use the batteries in all of my cars. When I tried TPRC batteries, I was impressed by the performance. TPRC LiPo batteries are a must have for every racer.” Jörn raced for the first time representing team TPRC at the JConcepts Clash last weekend in Florida. The TP1430C is a powerful and advanced multi-chemistry charger, discharger and balancing system. With up to 1000 watts of total charging power the TP1430C is equipped to charge, discharge and cycle a variety of 1-14S LiPo, LiIon and LiFe (A123) batteries, as well as 1-40 cell NiCd and NiMH along with 6-48V Pb batteries. The built-in 2-14S LiPo/LiIon/LiFe (A123) cell balancer and included balance connector adapter board are readily compatible with Thunder Power balance connectors and the JST-XH balance connectors found on most other batteries. The TP1430C is capable of charging at rates up to 30 amps offering the ability to charge many of the latest-generation LiPo batteries at ultra-fast rates up to 6C and beyond. Other features include built-in data monitoring and internal resistance measurement, plus the ability to use a standard USB cable to install future firmware updates available for free download from the company’s website.

Thunder Power RC’s new Z3R-8 Sensored Brushless motor series is designed for use in 1/8th scale, off-road vehicle applications. Z3R-8 motors are high-powered for pro-level performance and are available in 1400Kv, 1900Kv, 2100Kv and 2400Kv for any buggy. Each motor is constructed from high-quality materials including a balanced, high-strength 4-pole neodymium rotor, high-temperature coated copper wire and plated copper solder tabs, while features including easy-to-set adjustable timing from 0—25 degrees and fast-switching, high-temp sensors make it easy to maximize performance. The Z3R-8 motors are compatible with brushless sensored and sensorless electronic speed controls for flexibility in power system optimization.
