Xray XB2C 2018 1/10th 2wd buggy

Xray have released the 2018 version of their XB2 carpet edition 2wd buggy. Featuring a number of refinements throughout, the first of which is the new chassis made from 2.5mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium whose special design ensures that different areas of the chassis have the proper flex. The precision milling allows the chassis to be stiff enough to perform properly without risk of bending. To improve front chassis flex, the front composite chassis braces were redesigned and shortened to allow for mounting all-new graphite side guard braces for better stability and performance. In the rear,  the all-new narrower suspension holders with new rear suspension geometry gives increased rear traction. The gear differential has new diff-outdrives that are stronger as a result of a new hardening process that increases lifetime and reliability, and are now designed to be used with a new more durable 2.5mm pin on the drive shafts. Finishing off the improvements, are new 4.5mm off-set wheel hex hubs to compensate for the new narrow suspension holders and higher-precision shock absorber lower shims for more precise shock shaft movement.

JConcepts L1 Layla LMP body shell

Coming from JConcepts is the L1 Layla LMP body shell for 1/10th formula pan cars such as the Team Associated F6 and the Xray X1. The body has a low-slung appearance and offers complete chassis coverage and a front chin spoiler starts the design for improved steering response and front-end grip. The L1 rises over the suspension and blends with the tyre covers while the closed cockpit design resembles the LMP1 vehicles of the latest generation. The wrap-around window design and full length rear stabilising and rollover fin take over as the design focal point. Over the rear tyres, the shell drops off to close off the rear fender while a recessed area allows room for the rear wing option. The L1 is loaded with louvers, scoops and fine detailing to ensure not only authentic looks, but dedicated function. The separate rear adjustable wing is a two-piece design that attaches with included 3mm hardware. The top element of the wing supplies the down-force helping the L1 whisk through the turns and the side stand-offs bring the height to operating level and helps provide that all important stability. Included in each body set, L1 “Layla” decal sheet, two-piece rear wing, three-piece paint mask for wrap-around window, ten-piece 3mm screw and nut hardware. Body mounts, hardware, conversion or other necessary items for the final fit are not included, however the soon-to-be-released JConcepts part number #2468 contains all parts to convert RC10F6 to a LMP ready vehicle.

JConcepts XB4 F2 buggy body shell

Coming from JConcepts is the new F2 body shell for the Xray XB4 2017 4WD buggy. Designed with aspects learned from the original Finnisher bodies, the F2 provides an even more aggressive look with included details which remain crucial to performance. An increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps while the forward cab placement changes performance and visible bias which help steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralise the at-speed handling. The rear of the pods have a dual step, scoop treatment which give a first in class look to the F2 body. The rear of the cab has the Finnisher step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and also several louver options off the rear. In addition to the newly designed body, JConcepts has included two of the latest Aero rear wings.
