Xray continue to release multiple material option parts for the XB2 Dirt Edition with the introduction of these composite rear roll-centre holders. The medium hardness versions are suitable for very-low to low-medium traction tracks while the hard versions suit low-medium to medium-high traction tracks.

Vigor RC BD7 & T4 tweak plates

Vigor RC have released these two tweak plates for the Yokomo BD7 and Xray T4 touring cars. Made from 5mm thick high quality acrylic, they have been designed to have the same chassis plate outline as the car its for. Works as any normal tweak plate does, it comes with a carry case to protect it while being transported or stored.

Bezerk RC XB2 carbon towers

Bezerk RC introduce these carbon towers for the Xray XB2 Dirt Edition. The front tower features standard geometry, but has increased material for crash protection and is made from 4.0mm glossy carbon fibre for added strength. The rear tower also features standard geometry and aims to be stronger thanks to the 4.0mm carbon fibre.

Making the Xray RX8’16 – Part 2

After making the decision to incorporate the changes, I was almost a permanent fixture behind the computer… trying to put all the changes from the 3 different concepts into one car. This was very tricky & demanding, as I had to throw away a significant amount of the work done beforehand, and even still I was constantly running into conflicts and problems. After a huge amount of time & effort spent on this, I finally finished and was very pleased with the outcome. I uploaded all the manufacturing programs to the production server, and Production started to work on the 20 pieces of the cars for the team. While working on the team cars, we sadly informed distributors that the RX8 would be delayed for the 2015 season. This was not very welcome news.

For the XB2, Xray have created these new side guards, an integral part of the XB2 Multi-Flex system. Molded from composite material, the side guards allow for proper chassis flex an now there are various hardness available for different track conditions. To compliment the kit versions there are now medium and hard versions.

Making the Xray RX8’16 – Part 1

I have a lot of respect and passion for the 1/8 on-road class. My passion comes from my early days when I got involved in RC, as this was the class I started with and grew up with. My respect comes from the fact that this class is considered the “ultimate F1 class” and as such many manufacturers put a high priority and investment into the class that pushes performance and limits all the time. It is kind of strange that despite this class being considered to be pinnacle of all RC car classes, the number of race entries is still low. This is understandable considering the big investment for a 1/8 on-road season and the complexity of the cars, but the very high speeds make the races very exciting and also challenging!

Xray XB2 4-gear gear box

Xray XB2 4-gear gear box

Xray have released this optional molded composite motor gear box for the XB2, which accommodates 4 gears and orientates the motor on the left side. All parts fit perfectly together, and give super-easy access to the rear differential. The durable gear box houses the differential and rear transmission, allowing the mounting of the rear roll center holder, motor plate, and rear shock tower.

Xray XB4 +3.75mm Offset wheel hubs

New for the XB4, Xray have produced these CNC-machined 12mm wheel hubs with +3.75mm offset for wider track-width. Made from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium they have been strategically machined for optimum strength, balance and lightness. Marked for easy identification they are secured onto the drive axle with a setscrew.
