Smokem Racing T4MX chassis

Smokem Racing T4MX chassis

The team at Smokem Racing has released the latest version of their MX-series chassis, this time for the Xray T4 electric touring car. Like all Smokem Racing’s MX-series chassis, the 2.25mm thick Smokem T4MX features distinctive curved shoulders that enhance the flex characteristics of the chassis compared to the stock Xray design. As a result, the T4MX delivers superior chassis response during quick direction changes and turn-in, while maintaining excellent stability. The added flex also widens the tuning window in your T4, allowing your car to be easily dialed-in over a wider range of temperature and track conditions. And in response to racers’ feedback, the T4MX also incorporates an enlarged pinion gear access hole to make pinion changes a breeze.

Xray 2013 spec RX8 1/8th scale chassis

Xray 2013 spec RX8 1/8th scale chassis

Xray have released details on their 2013 spec RX8 1/8th scale on road chassis. The car features a number of major changes, as well as some refinements, including the all new fuel tank with interior baffles for stable engine performance. Other new parts, and something that seems to be on all the latest Xray cars, is the all new low profile shocks and related lower shock towers. The new LP shocks were developed to lower the CG of the car in order to improve stability. With the new LP shocks the RX8 stays flatter, making it easier to drive in chicanes and more resistant to traction roll, letting you carry more speed through high traction sweepers. The other major change is the all-new reverse clutch set whose design provides smoother and faster acceleration, while increasing the lifetime of the clutch shoe.

Reflex Racing T4 spring set & fan mount

Reflex Racing T4 spring set & fan mount

Reflex Racing have released a number of new items for the Xray T4, first of which is their carpet linear spring set. This set is comprised of springs that are more linear in nature than their asphalt spring set, yet still posses very nice road compliance and feel. Oversized in diameter by 0.5mm it allows for more consistent handling on carpet tracks and yield more steering and corner speed. The set includes 4 pairs of springs, Orange (16.7lb), Pink (15.1lb), Blue (14.8lb) and Black (13.5lb). Next up are these carbon fibre wing holders, which are a great way to secure your TC’s wing much more securely. They are especially effective with light weight bodies where the wings are a bit flimsy. Lastly there is this all new T4 universal fan mount. The fan mount installs on the chassis hole behind or in front of the motor and works with most 25, 30, 35 and 40mm fans and is designed to be held in place by only one screw on the chassis and one screw on the mount.
