Xray RX8 Ultimate Racing Springs

XrayRacingSprings

Xray release their new line of Ultimate Racing Springs for front and rear shock absorbers. All feature the same thickness wire with the stiffness being controlled by the number of coils. Softer springs with lower ā€œCā€œ value have more coils whereas stiffer springs with higher ā€œCā€œ value have fewer coils. They come black coated and the top of each spring is laser engraved with spring size for quick and easy identification. Available as a pair of C7.0 to C10.0 front and C5.0 and C5.6 rear springs, each one is individually measured, controlled, inspected and matched to provide identical damping characteristics. Also available is a progressive C9.0 spring marked as 7-9 that feature a progressive rating from 7.0 to 9.0 while being compressed, making the car steer better at the beginning of the corner, and resist rolling in the middle of the corner because the spring becomes harder. Recommended for medium-high traction tracks.

Xray RX8 aluminium front anti-roll bar mounts

XrayRX8AluminiumAntiRollBar

The aluminium front anti-roll bar mounts for the Xray RX8 allow you to adjust the anti-roll bar independently from down stop setting, so that both settings do not interfere. The new parts also allow for wheelbase adjustments as the anti-roll bar mounts move together with the front arms, and wheelbase adjustment shims that can be added either in front of the anti-roll bar, to shorten the wheelbase, or behind the arm, to lengthen the wheelbase. The parts are CNC-machined from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium.

Xray Column – From on-road to off-road

XrayColumn53

The 53rd installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj talks about 1/8 scale buggy European Championship warm-up in Germany and the 1/10 scale electric touring cars European Championships warm-up in Austria.

Only a week after the off-road Euros warm-up we were back on the road to another Euros warm-up, although this time we were going back to an on-road track. For the last few years the development of our T1/T2/T3 is mainly handled by Martin. As usual we had several new parts ready for testing. With the previous experience and plenty of data recorded at our factory tracks, we were ready to test at a different track and under different conditions.

Speedmerchant Xray XII conversion kit

Speedmerchant Xray XII conversion kit

Speedmerchant are releasing their conversion kit for the Xray XII 1/12th scale car. Taking all the information gathered at the Nationals and testing weekly since, they have come up with this conversion. The new parts see the wheel base lengthened for more traction and stability as well as a widened front track for more predictable cornering. The rear suspension geometry has also been revised to get rid of any binding while the revised shock geometry offers more rear traction. The new chassis can accept the battery in 3 different positions, standard position, with over 1/2 inch for/aft adjustment, and offset/inline on either side of the chassis. They have also switched out the progressive springs for their linear tweak springs and moved them in-board, which they found to work much better on the lighter LiPo based cars. Finally they got rid of the single side to side damper for a pair of their proven damper tubes as they found the tubes to be much more consistent for racing.
