Xray Active Differential for XB2/XT2

From Xray, this unique Active Differential is a high-performance, adjustable rear gear differential for the XB2 that vastly improves the buggy’s speed and handling characteristics. The special design of the internal components using different angled segments allows the diff gears to engage on-power to increase the forward traction, making it faster and easier to drive. While the Active Differential is a performance option for serious racers who want to gain an edge on superior speed and handling, it is also of great benefit to drivers of all levels that want a more predictable and easy-to-drive car in all racing conditions. Also suitable for the XT2.

Xray release XT8’22E 1/8th truggy

Xray have released full details on their new XT8E’22 1/8th electric truggy platform. Sharing most of its updates with the recently announced XT8’22, it features a new chassis plate with wider rear section for increased stability as well as mounting provisions for a graphite brace for additional flex adjustment and chassis weight mounting locations for easier balancing. New front and rear arms sport a stronger, reinforced design that minimises flex in high temperatures for better handling and steering. Stronger and longer conical servo saver spring has an improved adjustment range while an all-new servo saver with chassis locked posts for more secure installation. A new lower front shock tower has improved geometry for increased corner speed and stability while shorter shock absorbers work together with the new tower geometry for improved handling. A new E concept allows for two different layout alternatives the first with rear motor position with a single battery position on the left, or front motor position using saddle pack batteries in the rear. The kit includes two graphite servo holders, one for each motor/battery configuration and a 2-piece battery holder for saddle pack layout improves balance and lowers vehicle CG. The standard battery holder is moulded from new harder material for reduced flex, while there is a compact electronics mount for speedo and receiver when using the saddle pack battery configuration.

Xray release XT8’22 1/8th truggy

Xray have released full details on their new XT8’22 1/8th truggy platform. The car is a progression from the previous model and features a new chassis plate with wider rear section for increased stability as well as mounting provisions for a graphite brace for additional flex adjustment and chassis weight mounting locations for easier balancing. New front and rear arms sport a stronger, reinforced design that minimises flex in high temperatures for better handling and steering. Stronger and longer conical servo saver spring has an improved adjustment range while an all-new servo saver with chassis locked posts for more secure installation. The radio box is now moulded from harder material for a stronger and more rigid design to eliminate tweak issues in high temperatures and is now mounted to the chassis in more positions to create a solid and more reliable assembly. A new lower front shock tower has improved geometry for increased corner speed and stability while shorter shock absorbers work together with the new tower geometry for improved handling. Finally, ultra-efficient pre-glued brake pads give improved braking efficiency and consistent braking characteristics.

NathoBuilds XB4 & B74 LCG brass chassis flex plates

New to NathoBuilds is their LCG brass chassis flex plates for the XB4 and B74. The weight attaches directly onto the rear and front chassis brace, replacing the standard carbon fibre braces. This adds weight to the buggy, which can be fine tuned with the ‘pro set’ that will help with the weight of the rear and front of the buggy when using lightweight batteries or when running in bumpy track conditions. The weights can also help to find traction in very low grip conditions while countering traction rolling in very high-bite astro turf or indoor carpet racing. CNC machined from high-quality brass material which is sourced in Australia and is individually hand polished.

Xray GTXE’22 1/8th scale EP GT chassis

Having already announced the Nitro version of their 2022 GT chassis, the GT8’22, Xray have today announced the EP powered version, the GTXE’22. Sporting an electric specific layout, the low CG layout sees the electronics placed in front and saddle pack batteries in the rear with new composite battery boxes for each battery can fit short or standard packs Featuring a longer wheelbase chassis with updated layout, with the front and rear suspension holders now mounted directly to the chassis with new GT specific geometry. Aluminium spacers raise the front and rear diff heights for better drivetrain alignment and the front and rear gear boxes sport cooling cut outs for the differentials. A new rear diffusor helps increase stability at high speed while the front upper bumper brace matches to the front gearbox opening for improved diff cooling with the front lower bumper providing clearance for the new suspension mounts. Front and rear suspension arms in a softer materials that on the previous GTX and the front C-hubs sport 6° caster for improved steering characteristics. A 3-slot steering Ackermann graphite plate allows for more initial steering and more overall steering angle for the GT category with hard rear uprights giving improved stability and the graphite rear upright extensions give increased corner speed. A new centre layshaft adapter fits smaller 45T / 46T / 47T spur gears for expanded gear ratio choices and the front and rear shock towers are much lower with new shock positions and roll centre locations and aluminium lower shock mount extensions improve the corner seed and stability in corners.
