Xray XT4 1/10th 4WD electric truggy kit

Following a couple of teasers, Xray have finally unveiled their all-new XT4 1/10th scale 4WD electric truggy kit. A growing class with roots in the USA, the 4WD trucks are based off of 4WD buggies combined with the wide track suspension of 2WD stadium trucks. Xray’s take on the class is based off of the IFMAR World Championship winning XB4 and it utilises a 2mm 7075-T6 aluminium chassis with composite side tails and centre chassis braces. The 3-diff drivetrain ensures maximum traction in all grip conditions – also thanks to the front, centre and rear CV-style steel driveshafts. The highly adjustable suspension utilises aluminium suspension hangers with composite inserts to adjust the roll centre, toe, kick-up, anti-squat and track width settings. The shock towers are cut from high-quality carbon fibre and long travel aluminium big bore shock absorbers are keeping the tyres on the ground even in the roughest of terrain. The truck is decked out by a purpose-designed and highly aerodynamic body shell and it will hit stores very soon.

Xray 4-shoe off-road clutch set

Xray have introduced their new 4-shoe off-road clutch set for their XB8 and XT8 range of off-road kits. The complete set includes a flywheel, lightweight medium aluminium clutch shoes, gold, soft, clutch springs, assembly screws, flywheel collar, and flywheel nut. The 4-shoe clutch design allows for super-easy clutch setting from soft to hard setting, each suitable for different track conditions and racing styles. The clutch also features smaller, lighter internal parts, and the design allows for more balanced clutch bell engagement compared to the traditional 3-shoe design. The 4-shoe design allows the use of combinations of different hardnesses of shoes and springs in order to fine-tune clutch engagement settings, and even allows for a combination of different pairs of shoes and springs which gives ultra-fine engagement settings. Four different hardnesses of shoes and three different hardness of springs are optionally available and adjusting the clutch is made easy thanks to the special assembly screws that hold the shoe and spring.

Xray T4 adjustable shorty battery holder & weights

Coming from Xray and made for their T4 line of touring cars is a fully adjustable shorty LiPo battery holder with weights. The set for shorty LiPo batteries allows to move the batteries front to rear by 4mm but also left to right for easy and comfortable weight transfer adjustment. The design of the battery mount also eliminates any negative chassis flex, making for a more equal left-to-right turning of the car. The included 40g brass weights set the battery in a central position for a perfect weight balance. In general, using a shorty battery with the low profile weights allows to lower the weight of the car which helps to make it easier to drive, more stable in the chicanes but in the same time it improves the rotation of the car. Xray recommended the layout especially for the modified class on carpet or small asphalt tracks.
