Xray XB4 low height front & rear springs

Xray have announced the release of new low height front and rear springs for the XB4 off-road buggies. The 42mm front and 57mm rear springs are 3mm shorter compared to the previous 45mm and 60mm variants, allowing for lower read heights when running in high grip track conditions. The springs are available as softer “2 dot” to harder “4 dot” variants and they are manually measured, selected and matched into pairs to guarantee precisely equal length and damping characteristics.

Xray XB2 gearbox height adjustment plates

Xray have introduced new carbon fibre gearbox height adjustment plates for the XB2 series of buggies. Machined from 2mm carbon fibre the plates are available in two designs, a T-shaped spacer to raise both the gearbox and rear suspension mounts by the same amount and also a smaller plate that only raises the gearbox. An optional -2mm aluminium motor plate will ensure the motor sits as low as possible, ensuring a low overall centre of gravity. Raising the gearbox, or lowering the chassis, will ensure optimised driveshaft angles, a lower centre of gravity and thus less rolling in corners in high to very high bite conditions. All parts are available separately to help create the desired setup.

RC-Cox T4 aluminium front solid axle outdrives

Coming from RC-Cox and made for the Xray T4 series of touring cars are front spool driveshaft adapters. The outdrives are machined from lightweight yet strong 7075-T6 aluminium and are finished with a special coating for improved wear resistance. Also included are C-shaped driveshaft blades in black colour. The driveshaft adapters are usable for all T4 series cars and they help to reduce rotational masses for quicker spool-up and thus better acceleration.

Xray T4F 1/10th FWD touring car kit

Following a couple of body-on teaser images, Xray have finally unveiled their all-new T4F 1/10th front wheel drive touring car kit. With the FWD concept being a first for the Slovakian manufacturer, the car still shares about 90 percent of its parts with the company’s ultra-successful T4 4WD touring car platform, making spare parts stocking easy while allowing for a simple, efficient and easy to work on platform. The car was developed and tested in cooperation with Germany’s Harald Schmittgen and it makes use of a narrow 2.2mm thick carbon fibre chassis that features predrilled locations for the adjustable battery mounts and optional chassis weights, making for a super reactive and easy to control car in all track conditions. A specially-developed 2.0mm graphite top deck is a universal solution for both low and high-bite tracks, providing both exceptional traction and side bite.

Xray XB8 series medium rubber shock membrane cell

Xray have introduced their new medium hardness rubber shock membrane cell set for XB8 based buggies, trucks and GT cars. The special design of the volume compensator provides a smaller air gap compared to conventional rubber diaphragms, resulting in more consistent damper action throughout the whole run. The red medium hardness cells will also offer more rebound compared to the previously released soft set, making for improved traction on smoother surfaces. The membranes come in sets of four and they are usable for the nitro and electric variants of the XB8, XT8 and GTX.

Zero Tribe working on T4 mid motor conversion

Japanese brand Zero Tribe, known for their popular Xray T4 FWD conversion, have released first renderings of a mid motor conversion for Xray’s T4 electric touring car. The design is inspired by Tamiya’s TA05 car and Awesomatix’s A800 MMCX mid motor conversion, with the equal length front and rear belts making for quicker and more even throttle response while the placement of the somewhat heavy motor creates an optimised overall balance. The kit will allow the use of shorty-type LiPo batteries as it is a developing trend when running indoors. We bring you more information on the kit as they surface.
