PSM DTC & HTC touring car aluminium chassis

Following a first teaser image, PSM from Germany have finally unveiled their new DTC and HTC touring car aluminium main chassis plates. These unique chassis have been specially developed to suit medium-low and medium-high grip conditions. The DTC Delta Traction Characteristics chassis feature delta shaped cut-outs to provide soft torsion characteristics along with consistent performance. The softer flex allows the car to generate more mechanical grip, which is helpful in low grip conditions and/or very tight tracks.

Pilot Orbit 1/10th buggy ceramic bearing sets

Coming from Pilot RC Products for many of today’s competition 1/10th buggy kits are Orbit ceramic ball bearings sets. The ball races are precision crafted and produced from highest grade materials governing them the ABEC rating grade 7. They are of a stainless steel rings and Si3N4 ceramic balls design and they come pre-oiled with 1up clear bearing oil for ultra free spinning and increased drivetrain efficiency. Included with each bearing kit is a complimentary bottle of 1up clear bearing lube to ensure the bearings remain properly lubed. The sets are available for many Team Associated, TLR, Yokomo and Kyosho 2WD and 4WD kits as well as the serpent Spyder SRX-2 MM.

PSM tease new balance weight main chassis plates

German company PSM has released first teaser images of their forthcoming new balance weight chassis for cars such as the Yokomo BD9, Xray T4, Tamiya TA07 and the Team Associated B74. No details are available yet beside two teaser images but by the look of things the chassis allow to add balance weights in milled pockets for a lower overall centre of gravity and upped overall weight when needed. Full details will be release later this week.

T-Works titanium turnbuckles for Yokomo YZ-2

T-Works have announced some option parts for the new Yokomo YZ-2 buggy. The range includes a lightweight 6-piece titanium turnbuckle set, a 102-piece UFO head titanium screw kit as well as 129-piece gold-colour steel screw set. The titanium parts are cut from high-quality 64-grade titanium for a low weight and high strength, ensuring a lower overall car weight and greater corrosion resistance. The gold-coloured steel screws however mainly add visual impact, allowing the ride to stand out.

Rebellion-RC Cross-Flex MM aluminium chassis kit

Listening to customer demands, RC-Carbonstore have announced the soon release of the all-new Rebellion-RC Cross-Flex aluminium chassis for their MM mid-motor touring car conversion kits. Of an ultra-low centre of gravity and adjustable flex design the main plate offers basically three chassis in one as it allows to adjust the overall flex to a wide range of track conditions thanks to interchangeable inserts that are held in place using M1x2mm screws. The highly machined herringbone design chassis can be equipped with brass inserts for running in high to very high-bite conditions, lighter and more flexible carbon fibre inserts make for a softer chassis for medium traction conditions and running the chassis without any inserts gives the most amount of flex for lower grip tracks. Mixing and matching the inserts and using more or less screws for fastening also allows to adjust the car’s weight bias and flex in certain areas. Testing of the new design is already underway and the main plate kits, that will become available for Rebellion-RC’s T4, TC7.2 and BD9/BD8 mid-motor chassis conversion kits will be up for grabs in about three weeks’ time.

Yokomo YD-2RR rear motor conversion kit

Yokomo have introduced the YD-2RR rear motor conversion kit for the YD-2E and YD-2S RWD drift car kits. The set includes new gearbox halves that use a reduced amount of idler gears for better throttle response while an updated motor position, with the motor sitting closer to the rear axle, eliminates the unwanted pendulum effect. The newly designed “swingable” motor plate allows to rotate the motor in order to access different throttle and weight balance setups for a range of track conditions and a resin rear chassis brace offers controlled chassis flex for improved rear end response. The set is rounded out by a set of spacers that brings the body posts to the previous position as the shock tower is moved forward to make way for the spur gear. The conversion is a direct fit on the YD-2E and will fit the YD-2S using optional parts such as the E series upper decks, the Y2-303AR alloy or Y2-303MR plastic rear brace supports and and battery holder.

Arrowmax BD9 Medius mid-motor conversion kit

Following the release of the Medium mid-motor conversion kit for the Xray T4, Arrowmax now also introduce a kit specific to the Yokomo BD9 touring car. The mid-motor conversion will increase overall steering, traction and cornering speed while also making for easier handling characteristics. The chassis conversion is available as 2.25mm carbon fibre or 2.0mm alloy chassis variant, and it also includes a 2.0mm carbon fibre upper deck, a 7075 alloy single-piece motor mount, redesigned 7075 centre pulleys as well as a chassis stiffener that enables the owner to access different chassis flex settings.

Axon YD-series Revoshock dampers

Axon have introduced their new Revoshock dampers the Yokomo YD-2 and YD-4 drift cars. The big bore shock absorbers utilise 11.5mm diameter 16-hole shock pistons that run in HVF-coated threaded alloy shock bodies for ultra low friction. The clearance between the piston and shock body is only 0.025mm, ensuring minimal oil blow-by and thus predictable shock performance. New to the Revoshock is a revolutionary piston shaft seal design with the lower cartridge seals being a lot smaller in diameter compared to industry-standard P3 O-rings, which ensures the seals are not being pinched by the shock body which created a floating design that leads to virtually no friction between the seals and the shock shaft. Specially selected inner diameters of the upper S and lower SS-sized O-rings ensure the shocks are still as leak-free as possible while the HVF-coated piston shaft further reduce overall friction. The result is a shock absorber that is able to generate more traction due to being as smooth as possible. Included in the set come the shock bodies, upper and lower caps, spring pre-load collar as well as the piston rods and pistons. The plastic parts, pivot balls and shock springs are not included as these are parts that can be taken from the donor Yokomo shocks.
