T-Works BD8 graphite spur gear plate

T-Works have introduced a graphite spur gear plate for the Yokomo BD8 cars. The machined carbon fibre plate will reinforce the mounting screw area of the gear for less wobble and increased transmission efficiency. The plate includes four suitable, gold-coloured fasteners.

Floating Master RC tooling block

Floating Master have introduced their new RC tooling block, a multifunctional tool that combines a bulkhead alignment block, a gear differential workbench and a soldering jig. The bulkhead alignment function is usable with the Tamiya TRF419X and 419XWS, Xray T4 2015 to 2017, as well as the Yokomo BD7 2015 and 2016 and BD8. In addition to this do multiple machined holes allow to hold gear differentials during building, setup and maintenance while dual 4mm and 5mm holes take bullet-type connectors during soldering. The part is machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium, it comes black anodised and with light green edge details.

Lunsford YZ-2 DTM titanium screw sets

Coming for Yokomo’s World Championship winning YZ-2 platform are two new titanium screw kits from Lunsford. Made specifically for the DTM version, two sets are available. The 70-pieces top kit includes all needed 3mm hardware for the upper side of the vehicle while the 26-piece bottom side kit includes a total of 26 fasteners for the lower part of the buggy. All are made from US-made Grade 5 titanium for a low weight, high stability and exceptional corrosion resistance.

Yannic Prümper returns to Yokomo factory team

Yokomo have announced the return of Germany’s Yannic Prümper to their factory team. Yannic grew up using Yokomo cars and buggies and he now comes back to the iconic Japanese manufacturer following a stint with other brands. Prümper will use the BD8-2018, YZ-2 and YZ-4SF platforms in his upcoming campaign that will see attendances at events such as the ETS, EOS and major races in Europe. Yannic says:

I would like to thank Team Yokomo for giving again the opportunity to use their excellent products. It feels good to be back in that Team where my RC carrier started and I grow up. I‘ll do my best in the future to deliver the best results!

Max Flurer teams up with Yokomo

Yokomo have announced another big signing to their US race team with Max Flurer. Max is very well known in the industry as a great guy who works extremely hard and can lay it down with the best of them. Max began testing the YZ-2 DTM 2WD buggy last month where he instantly found success. Max went onto take a podium finish at his first race with the car in the 2WD Modified Buggy class at round 4 of the JConcepts Indoor National Series at RC Excitement in Massachusetts. Then a few weeks later Max took the impressive 2WD Modified Buggy win at the 2017 Masters of Dirt Race hosted by Beach RC & Hobbies in South Carolina.

Jake Thayer teams up with Yokomo

Yokomo have announced the signing of Jake Thayer to their US team. Store manager at OC RC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California, Jake is known as an extremely hard worker and also wicked fast on the track, taking countless club race wins while also bringing a great knowledge of set-up and racing experience to Yokomo’s growing USA race team.

AME BD8-series Aluminium Backbone

Following AME’s carbon fibre backbone for the Yokomo BD8-series touring cars comes an aluminium variant. The part has been developed and tested in cooperation with the Yokomo Factory Team in Stock and Modified classes and it will change the handling of the chassis by reinforcing the rear chassis section. The results are improved stability, drivability and corner speed in nearly all track conditions, from low to high grip carpet or asphalt, with the alloy part offering even more rigidity compared to the carbon fibre brace. The backbone is machined from high-quality aluminium and it is usable with the BD8 2017, 2018 and SV.

Joe Pillars signs long term deal with Yokomo

Following the news earlier today that Joe Pillars had left his long time position at Kyosho, competing Japanese brand Yokomo have just announced the signing of Joe Pillars as US Team Manager. Joe will lead the brand’s charge into the US market by building and operating their race team as of today. Joe brings many successful years of Team Management skills to Yokomo and they are all very excited for the future. Joe had the following to say about the deal:

I would first like to thank Kyosho America for the past 11 years of working together. I would like to thank Aki, Futoshi, Mitsuo, Kanai, Derek, and everyone at Kyosho America for all there support and efforts during this time. I would also like to thank Jared Tebo for the opportunity to work with him during most of my time at Kyosho. Together we have accomplished a lot of great results including 1 x World Title, 3 x World TQ’s, 9 ROAR National Championships, as well countless other big race victories! Now moving forward, I would like to first thank Tom Yokobori and Minoru Aso for this great opportunity to work for and represent Yokomo here in the USA!
