Mibosport Cup Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Mibosport Cup 2016/17, organised by the team of Michal Bok, saw a total of 170 participants, with 93 drivers signing up for the on-road and 128 drivers signing up for the off-road classes. Qualifying for the Touring Car Modified class was won by Alexander Hagberg. Marek Černý finished second with Viljami Kutvonen in third.

Yaniv Sivan wins Rd3 of Israeli League

Yaniv Sivan wins Rd4 of Israeli League

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the Israeli League take place at Speed Racing’s track. Following 4 rounds of qualifying Kyosho/Reds driver Yaniv Sivan took the TQ spot for the final. The final started while Yaniv Sivan taking the lead followed by Or Balulu with a battle for third between Aviv Maymon an Ido Carmon going on. An early mistake by Yaniv Sivan saw him lose 2 places, however he recovered fast and took back the lead. Aviv Maymon unfortunately hit engine problems and dropped out of contention and so after 40 minutes Yaniv Sivan took the win ahead of Or Balulu, with Ido Carmon completing the podium in 3rd.

Hagberg & Nutting win at BRCA 1/12th Rd2

The second round of the British LMP-12 national series took place at the permanent MB Models facility in Leeds. The meeting was held over two days, with Saturday being 13.5 fixed timing for all drivers, and Sunday being split between 6.5 fixed timing modified and 13.5 fixed timing Sports Modified. The quality of the field was credibly high, with past World Champions David Spashett and Alexander Hagberg heading the entry list. Past National Champions Olly Jefferies and Chris Kerswell were also guaranteed front runners, along with the Schumacher team headed by Andy Murray, who had used the track extensively to test their new LMP car, the Eclipse.

SARDA Onroad Gas Nationals - Report

RC Zone in Middelburg, Mpumalanga played a host to the 4th and final round of the SARDA Onroad Gas National Championship. It was always going to be an exciting weekend with some of the championship podium positions still up for grabs, and the imminent threat of rain throughout the weekend. Also, the participation and technical support of Xray Factory driver, Tom Kraegefski, sparked a lot of interest.

XRS Slovenia Rd1 report

The Round 1 of XRS Slovenia took place at the beautiful facility in Medeuzza (Italy) on the Genius Ring. There was a big interest for the race since racing with hand-out motors is something stock drivers really like, so all the places at the tables were full. The XRS motors and Hudy tires performed flawlessly during Saturday’s practice and Sunday’s race. Saturday it was a practice day where most of drivers could get in touch for the first time with the XRS motors and Hudy tires. In the evening there was the Xray evening party and later the workshop, where Xray Factory team driver Tom Krägefski and Alojzij Osvald with more Xray/TopRC team drivers discussed regarding set-ups for the race.

Drake wins Nitro Buggy at TNT Rd3

Dialed In Raceway was the host for round 3 of the Top Notch Tour this past weekend with the event attracting around 100 entries. Mugen team driver Adam Drake topped both rounds of qualifying for both nitro buggy and nitro truck and so would start first in both A-mains. In the nitro buggy final, Drake would take the win followed by Tyler Brown and Ronda Drake.

Jarosz, Pillars, Day & Chambers win at Northwest Invitational

The 7th Annual Northwest Invitational was held this past weekend at Cottage Grove R/C Raceway in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Located just 2 hours south of Portland, this first class off-road facility includes a fully stocked hobby shop, spacious pit areas, along with a hi-traction clay off-road track. In the Invitational 2wd Modified Buggy class, the overall Championship would come down to the 8th and final round of racing between Kyosho America teammates Chris Jarosz & Tanner Day. Jarosz would go onto run a flawless race to take the heat win and the overall Championship with his RB6.6. Day would finish just 1 point away from the overall win to finish 2nd. Kyosho America’s Matt Chambers would complete the Kyosho podium sweep by finishing 3rd overall.

Tanner Denney becomes Grand Champion at U.S. Open

The 2016 U.S. Open Fuel Championships were held this past weekend at Fear Farm Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. TLR’s Tanner Denney would take the combined Grand Championship after ending the mains day sitting in third overall in the E-Buggy class and coming in second in Nitro Truggy. In Pro Buggy with the rain coming down hard during both semis, Tanner ended up starting TQ by just 1 second and with the mains being called he got the overall win in Buggy and with it the Grand Championship in front of Tekno’s Joe Bornhorst.
