Neumann wins as Fritschler takes German Buggy title

The second and final round of the German 1/8th Nitro Buggy Championship was held at the Coesfeld track this past weekend. Jörn Neumann took the TQ after the qualifiers and he went on to win the main final from Marvin Fritschler who would grab the 2015 title with two second place finishes. Maik Wiesweg would end the day in third to round out the podium. Overall Marcel Guske ended the season on the runner-up spot whole Steven Schöniger completed the top 3 result. Coesfeld winner Jörn Neumann would only finish in 58th place overall after skipping the first round held in Schwendt.

Lee Martin doubles at BRCA 1/10th Buggy final

The final round of the BRCA 1/10th Buggy National Championship was held at the Stotfold track this past weekend. With the 4WD Championship already being decided the 2WD title was still up for grabs. Yokomo’s Lee Martin was the man to beat as he won every qualifier and also all three final legs in the 2WD class, which was run on Saturday, eventually taking the 2WD title in the progress, and beating Team Associated’s Neil Cragg who ended the season on the runner-up spot. Yokomo’s Tom Cockerill would round out the top 3. In the 4WD class, run on Sunday, the title was already taken by Lee Martin but this did not stop the Yokomo driver from once again dominating the proceedings, as he took the day’s win from team mates Simon Moss in second and Tom Cockerill in third.

Patrick Hofer wins Swiss 1/8th Buggy Nationals Rd6

Round six of the Swiss 1/8th Buggy Nationals was held at the Mini Buggy Lausanne et Région club over the weekend. Following a mixed qualification and some issues at the start of the main final when he dropped to the last position, Patrick Hofer was able to grab the win in the main final from team mate Ronny Lüber.

Hagberg & Cerny take European Touring Car titles

Hagberg & Cerny take European Touring Car titles

The 2015 Electric Touring Car European Championships were held at the Torres Novas track in Portugal. The fairly technical track was host of an EFRA TC Euro before and it offered a medium traction level for the drivers in both the Modified and Stock classes. In Modified, Alexander Hagberg and Bruno Coelho were the pacesetters in both practice and qualifying. A power failure in the forth qualifying round made for some drama and unexpectedly cold track temperatures gave Ronald Völker a huge advantage in Q5 to win the tie-breaker over Alexander so Ronald would grab the pole position from Alexander in second and Bruno in third.

2015 Surf City Classic – Report

The 2015 Surf City Classic was held this past weekend at OC R/C Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. With the reputation of having one of the best tracks and facilities in the country, this year’s event once again sold out very quickly. The race schedule saw open practice on Friday, three round of qualifying on Saturday and a final round of qualifying followed by the main events, including a single 10-minute A-main, on Sunday. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class, Ryan Maifield would take the TQ honors and Maifield would go onto lead every lap and take the win in the A-main over Ryan Cavalieri by 4 seconds. Kody Numedahl would make a great comeback to finish on the podium in third.

Akio Sobue wins at All Japan Touring Car Champs

The All Japan Touring Car Championships were held at RC Park Beetops over the weekend. In the Super Expert class Tamiya’s Akio Sobue dominated the qualifying and he ultimately took the win over team mate Naoto Matsukura in the triple A-mains by winnig the first and second leg. VBC Racing’s Hayato Ishioka rounded out the top 3 result.

North wins 1/8th class at British Open

North wins 1/8th class at British Open

The eagerly anticipated British Open was arranged by both the 1/8th and 1/10th Committee aside from the respective championships to help promote all the nitro on-road classes and crown champions over one weekend of racing. The drivers booked in where the core of each individual section apart from some top 1/8th drivers who were travelling to the Euros in Ettlingen. Out of a total of 68 drivers, the largest class was 1/8th with a total of 27 drivers with the 1/10th section providing the remaining with roughly equal split for 200mm and 220mm chassis types.
