Klinik RC 2 in 1 Lockdown Carb System

US racing upgrade parts producer Klinik RC has introduced this 2 in 1 Lockdown carb system with the CNC machined aluminium clamping ring serving multiple purposes for use on virtually all 1:8 engines. The Lockdown carb system replaces the conventional cheap zip tie and provides air filter boot clamping security that’s unmatched. The ring also serves as a holder for the throttle return o-ring. Placing the o-ring completely away from any objects that could cause possible damage and failure. Clamp is secured using supplied m2.5 screw. The link attaches to any m2 throttle linkage rod and is even threaded to add extra security and reliability. The holder is adjustable to allow clearance of any objects that could cause possible damage and failure. The proprietary silicone material used is chemical and heat-resistant, ensuring that its elastic properties remain unchanged over time without loss of tension. Secure throttle return and stable tuning. Supports a consistent idle point, making engine tuning easier and allowing for more precise and repeatable adjustments.

MAD Wurks X4’26 Top Deck Options

US based parts producer MAD Wurks has released a five new top deck options for Xray’s X4’26 1:10 Electric Touring Car. The range offers more flex options including 3 hole rear decks for greater rear stability over traditional stock decks. The front decks are offered in open and wave format. Both front top decks enclose the front most hole for added durability and better control. For those looking for more rear flex and corner wrap, a top deck with a rear wave is also available to allow more bulkhead flex. The wave top deck with bridges can also be used in the front or rear and cut out the bridges to tune to the flex needed for your track conditions. All top deck options are offered in 1.6mm and 2mm carbon fibre variants.

Hobby Expo China – Seeing is believing!

The saying goes that ‘seeing is believing’ and attending the 24th edition of Hobby Expo China in Beijing last weekend definitely endorsed that statement. While the press information highlighted the 70,000 visitors who attended the 3-day expo last year, nothing quite prepared me for the crowds and buzz of this expo. Staged in the Beijing Exhibition Centre, which built in 1954 was alone worth a visit for its architecture, this was Red RC’s first time to visit HEC. Talking to some of our industry friends familiar with the expo prior to making the trip to the Chinese capital, they all flagged that we wouldn’t believe the crowds it attracts. Having been reached out to be Chinese media outlet about doing some videos with them at the show, they too warned me to be prepared for the crowds. While setting expectations high, it was only when I actually arrived on Friday morning that we got the true sense of the scale of the numbers it attracts. With over 300 exhibitors covering two distinct main categories, RC and diecasts, the truth was that it was the latter that had the pulling power but to RC’s benefit. Crowds had started queuing on Thursday night for the Expo’s 09:00 opening time on Friday morning, as collectors sought to get their hands on limited edition static car models, 1:64 the fan favourite. Still while diecast was the big draw, this year’s even bigger visitor count, were also exposed to an impressive display of what the world of RC had to offer and that was another stand out of those exhibiting. Sure many of the exhibitors were unfamiliar brands to us but on taking a look at their offerings I was impressed by both the quality and presentation. There was also plenty of opportunities to try various RC products on numerous demo tracks for onroad cars, drifting, crawling, and construction. Observing the reaction of both young & old as they got their hands on a transmitter was encouraging.

Nguyen to make Asian Buggy Champs debut at first Malaysian encounter

Young Kyosho star Phi-Long Nguyen will make his Asian Buggy Championships debut this weekend as Malaysia hosts the latest round of the Scotty Ernst promoted championship for the very first time. Now in its fourth season, reigning back to back FEMCA Champion Nguyen will join ABC championship regulars at the impressive LAP Paradise RC Raceway for the second of the 4 round Team Cayote/VP Pro backed 1:8 Offroad Championship. The American will be compete against Mayako’s Pekko Iivonen, Sworkz’s Caleb Noble, who dominated the season opener in New Zealand in March, team-mate Jayden Edmunds and Mayako’s Logan Toia. On his Asian Buggy Championships debut the teenager said, ‘The series as I have seen in the past is amazingly organized and well run with Scotty behind the mic the world will be heard. Lap Paradise looks like a perfect track to improve on high traction and we can’t wait to visit Malaysia which is another beautiful Asian country.’

Boost RC TC10/3 Conversion Kit

Italian brand Boost RC has released this Internal Shock Conversion Kit for the Axon TC10/3 Electric Touring Car. This complete conversion system has been developed to relocate the dampers from the traditional external position to a fully internal layout, improving mass centralisation and overall driving performance. The result is a car that feels more predictable, more stable, and noticeably quicker through mid-corner, while remaining easy to drive at the limit. The kit is compatible with both the original Axon dampers and the optional short shock set (High Big Bore Shock Conversion), allowing flexibility depending on the driver’s setup preferences. All suspension arms are manufactured from 3mm carbon fibre, while the upper mounts are produced from high-strength composite material and designed to work with the original shock towers. Additional vertical carbon reinforcements further increase chassis rigidity compared to the standard configuration. The lower shock mounts remain the original Axon parts. At the rear, they are mounted underneath the arm and swapped left to right, while at the front they are mounted above the arm, also swapped left to right, to avoid any interference with the anti-roll bar. The composite upper mounts are designed to work with the original carbon body post holder, allowing the rear body posts to be repositioned from the standard horizontal layout to a vertical configuration, typically used in modified class racing. The kit also features a redesigned downstop screw position for precise and easy adjustments, along with a complete set of hardware including M3 screws, longer set screws for the camber link, and M3 nuts to be inserted into the dedicated seats in the composite upper mounts. All components have been designed, tested, and refined on track, with a clear focus on improving performance.

2026 Hobby Expo China – Preview

This weekend sees the staging of the 24th edition of Hobby Expo China at the Beijing Exhibition Centre in the capital city and the main RC related halls, 9 & 11, will see 70 booths display their products among over 300 exhibitors of hobby products. With international Chinese RC brands like Hobbywing, FlySky, Gens ace, Savox, Sunpadow, Surpass Hobby, Sky RC, ISDT, and Carisma represented as well as foreign brands Kyosho and Futaba, the Expo will also feature a number of RC car demos area which will greet visitors as they enter the exhibition centre. With the Expo covering 25,000 square metres, the promoters have created a designated Buggy & Rally Demo area, an RC Drifting area, and a Crawler area, where members of the public will get the opportunity to try each of these disciplines for themselves – a key ‘try me’ opportunity to encourage and attract new interest in the RC hobby at all levels. With Red RC visiting the established & important Expo for the first time this weekend, talking to those in the industry who have attended previously we have been warned to be surprised by the size of the crowds the Expo attracts and how busy it is. Officially more than 70,000 attended last year over the 3-days. In addition to public visitors, the show also attracts buyers and distributors, brand representatives, supply chain and manufacturing professionals, product development and marketing teams, and institutions (museums, education, sports). Running from Friday to Sunday, the HEC also has a huge number of diecast model exhibitors, many of whom do limited edition show releases which contribute to the high public attendance and hype around the weekend. While we will focus on RC car related content while visiting, we will also be looking at diecasts both out of personal interest but also to explore if there is anything to be learned from what that segment are doing to generate the current interest in that market especially in China.
