JConcepts B74 F2 buggy body shell

JConcepts have announced the release of their new F2 body shell for the Team Associated B74 4WD buggy. Designed with aspects learned from the original Finnisher bodies, the F2 provides an even more aggressive look with included details which remain crucial to performance with the F2 body being a drop fit for the popular Team Associated B74. An increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps and the forward cab placement changes the performance/visible bias which help steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralise the at-speed handling. The rear of the pods have a dual step, scoop treatment which give a first in class look to the F2 body. The rear of the cab has the Finnisher step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and also several louver options off the rear. The body is designed exclusively for the new B74 platform and includes all the necessary cut-lines and each package includes two S-Type rear wings.

JConcepts 1999 Ford F-150 Lightning body shell

JConcepts have announced the release of their 1999 Ford SVT F-150 Lightning for Street Eliminator drag racing. The SVT F-150 Lightning body is built low and excels when converted to a JConcepts Street Eliminator concept. The high-speed shell features a very scale look, and with the addition of a rear spoiler, helps the F-150 speed in the correct direction. Exterior elements that distinguish the Lightning from the regular F-150 include new upper and lower front grilles with a horizontal design that is unique to the Lightning in the F-Series line. The headlights, taillights, side-marker lights, and the signature round fog lights all match the 1:1 counterpart found only on the Lightning, which give the exterior a clean, jewel-like appearance. The cab’s center high-mounted stop lamp also is unique to the Lightning, and is created with a simple detailed decal. The body comes clear, made of heavy-duty polycarbonate with protective film and it includes window masks and detailed Ford decals.

SMJ 8mm body mounting hole patches

Coming from SMJ are three new body mounting hole patches for 8mm body posts as used by 1/8th IC Track and GT cars. First up are standard thickness patches that are ideal to reinforce the body post hole area on new and used shells. The patches also work as a protection for the paint in this area. Next up are thin-type 0.3mm thick patches that are best used with lightweight body shells. Due to their thin appearance they also wrap around body curves very well. Last but not least comes a set of 1mm and 1.5mm rubber spacers that help to fine-tune body height while also offering protection against rattling. The set includes four of each thickness.

RC Race Prep ZooRacing anti-tuck arms & wing mounts

UK based brand RC Race Prep have announced the release of their new anti-tuck arms and adjustable wing mounts for the ZooRacing range of touring car body shells. Starting with the anti-tuck arms, the aim of this design is to decrease the chance of a body tuck within a run. A body tuck just at the wrong moment has the potential to ruin the entire event for the driver and team. The way the arm has been designed is to disperse the energy from the impact and not damage the shell. The parts weigh in at just 2.2g each and when designing the arm, RC Race Prep chose to use the production methods weakness to the designs advantage. The screw hole at the base of the flex arm can be fixed to the bodyshell to further support the rear of the shell. Upon impact, the layers around the hole will delaminate dispersing some of the energy from the impact. This means that on impact the contact patch on the wheel is effected as little as possible. This is a critical performance aid when running with a lightweight shell as the vertical load is applied down the arm to the fixed location point on the arm. The resistance given by the arm is also a key part of the design process. To change the flex characteristics, the designers produced a variety of arms with different arks and thicknesses. The result is an anti-tuck arm whose resistance is great enough to push the body back to its resting vacuum formed position, yet not so great to unload the wheel during impact causing the car to loose traction.

RC Maker V2 body anti-tuck wing mounting set

RC Maker have introduced their new V2 light body anti-tuck wing mounting sets for the most popular 190mm touring car bodies on the market. Our brand new Anti-Tuck Wing Mounting Set Lite V2 introduces an even more compact, efficient way of integrating wing mounting and anti tuck components. This system prevents body tucks behind the rear wheel arch during racing, as well as inconsistencies on high speed tracks and in windy conditions, causing the bodyshell to vibrate. Weighing in at only 5g for the pair, this lightweight strut only requires one additional M3 screw other than the wing mounting screw to secure the strut behind the wheel arch. Using the existing upper wing buttons, racers can screw directly into the strut securing it at the top whilst also securing the wing. The new design also offers extra material that sits in the vertical part of the wing strut. In crashes this section of the bodyshell can often crush or deform, and is unable to be repaired. The brace fixes this and prevents deformation in this area, ensuring your body lasts longer. The strut is produced by Australia’s highly regarded 3-D-printing experts Think RC. These are constructed of a rigorously tested, flexible, yet strong plastic material which allows them to be used time and time again between bodies. The struts are currently available for the Protoform Type-S, Zoo Racing DBX, Preopard and Hellcat as well as the Mon-Tech Racer 2.
