Sharing the same Team Durango DNA, performance and innovation as the World Championship winning DEX410, it is delivered with a more ‘regular’ specification. We brought you the announcement of the partnership of HPI and TSA Motorsports last week and today they have released the full details on the new Mini Trophy 1/12th scale 4wd desert truck. HPI Racing delivers super realism influenced by their relationship with TSA. An interesting note about this particularly “special project” is the fact that TSA used the body styling from HPI Racing and shaped the TSA full-size 7200 class truck to look like the HPI Mini-Trophy Truck, so the HPI Mini-Trophy came first.

With the 1/12th Worlds now over, focus has now switched to touring car and on today’s preperation day we sat down with Team Associated who gave us the scoop on their new TC6 chassis, that is making its international debut at this race. Retaining the same lower front and rear wishbones, C-hubs and rear uprights from the TC5, the rest of the car is different. A focus on LiPo and brushless the most noticable change is to the chassis which is very narrow and no longer sports battery slots.

HPI Racing is teaming up with full size desert racing team TSA Motorsports to work together on the company’s new Mini Trophy 4wd Desert truck. The truck will be 1/12th scale chassis and of course be based on the desert racing truck you see above.

Tamiya USA have released the new Performance Package version of the TRF801XT, which comes with updated parts to further optimize this truggy. Included in the kit are new shorter front and rear suspension arms that improve durability as well as performance. The new arms narrow the trucks width from 428mm to 422mm, the narrower stance improves handling and responsiveness. Also included in the Performance Package are new universal swing shafts to account for the narrower width of the new suspension arms. As an extra bonus the kit will now include item HD upper shock mounts. A one piece design, it allows for quicker and easier shock angle adjustment while providing a stronger mount.
