Xray XII Link

x12link_01

Just over a year after entering the 1:12 market, Xray have introduced the now-industry-standard linkage rear end to their XII chassis. The XII Link now follows current rules and trends in allowing the use of either NiMH or LiPo battery technology with no ill-effects to handling or balance.  The XII Link was designed and tested on club tracks around the world to perform on any surface under any conditions. Whether soaking up bumps on a rough asphalt club track or slicing through the infield of a super-smooth carpet track, the XII Link does it with ease and versatility. The XRAY XII Link achieves a state of perfection by focusing on well thought-out refinements to create a car that is easy to drive, work on, and adjust. Top-quality materials such as self-developed composite mixtures, HUDY Spring Steel™, premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum, and highest-grade graphite are XRAY signatures and the XII has them in abundance.

Serpent 1:8 Buggy

S8xx-1

Serpent have released three CAD images of their latest attempt to enter the competitive 1:8 Off Road market.  One of the key players in the nitro onroad competition market, they give little details about the buggy itself, currently known as the S8xx, but instead have included the first of a four part interview with the car’s designer Billy Easton.  Serpent has made noise about entering the 1:8 Off Road for the past few years and did get as far as racing a Gerd Strenge designed prototype  at the European Championship in Greece in 2008 but the project didn’t go any further.  American Easton is a very accomplished off road racer himself and has already tested his new creation in Florida while Serpent’s chief designer Michael Salven sampled the car in the snow in the Netherlands where the company’s design office is based.
