Winning Equation – X Factory X-6 Squared

The ‘Most successful mid-motor 2WD buggy’ has become even better, according to X Factory’s own Chazz Sinclair. Really? We will find out. When US based company X Factory introduced the X-6 three years ago it made a huge impact on the otherwise ‘traditional’ 2WD off-road buggy market. The X-6 utilized an unconventional design by dropping the popular rear motor design for the promising mid-motor layout associated with certain Italian sports cars … Despite that fact that some voices arose that state a real 2WD buggy has to have a rear mounted motor, the success of the X-6, especially in the UK, showed that X Factory made the correct decision. After introducing the upgraded ‘4-Gear’ version of the X-6 last year, X Factory have just released the new X-6 Squared with further improvements to make for a totally ‘dialled’ and near perfect ‘out of the box’ buggy. Traxxas Slash and E-Revo VXL

Seen at the toy fair on the Traxxas stand in February, the US company has released details on the 1/16th scale VXL versions of their Slash and E-Revo that are to be released next month. Both cars are 14 inches long, about half the size of the 1/10-scale counterparts. Beneath the factory-finished polycarbonate shell, you’ll find the winning suspension technology of the seven-time National Champion Traxxas Revo, Velineon brushless-motor power, and the convention-busting innovation of the E-Revo. No detail was overlooked to bring all the capability, durability, and excitement of Traxxas’ award-winning models to 1/16 scale for fast, affordable R/C fun.

Factory Team Associated RC8B

The Factory Team RC8B picks up where the RC8 left off by adding many performance and durability enhancing features that were pioneered by the company’s Area 51 engineers and world class pro team drivers, making a great buggy even better. The new RC8B features include Factory Team 16mm Big Bore threaded, hard-anodized shocks, updated 5mm 7075 blue aluminium shock towers, 7075 blue aluminium suspension mounts, Factory Team 7075 blue aluminium one-piece top plate, forward placement battery box, and optimized steering geometry. The RC8B gets you on the track fast, coming with pre-assembled shocks, diffs and turnbuckles, and also includes Factory Team shock and diff fluids.

Piktor Rush 2.2 Upgrade kit

French buggy maker Piktor have released a new suspension upgrade kit for their Rush 2, to upgrade it to version 2.2. Designed for the high American jumps, the kit comes with a full set of extra big bore shocks, 2 new aluminum shock towers, which are also available in carbon fibre as seen in the photos, and finally 4 aluminium shock supports for the lower suspension arms. This is a simple upgrade which gives the car a more conventional shock mounting setup compared to the cars normal lay down configuration. The kit will only be available as an upgrade for the Rush 2.

RC Devil PC10H2 200mm pan car

German company RC Devil have been in touch to show us their latest project, the PC10H2, a 200mm pan car, with plans for a 235mm version also in the works. Based on some Hatzenbach prototypes made by Achim Schulz, this car will be released in a small series and features an innovative dampened front end as well as centrally located batteries and a lot of practical innovations to make it a very competitive car. Made using the highest quality materials, they expect the car to be available in April, with a widening kit to make it to 235mm to follow shortly after.

Awesomatix Touring car photos

We’ve seen the CAD images of the radical new Awesomatix touring car chassis that is being designed and produced in Russia, and now we have some good quality photographs of the first car. As we have said before about this car, The two outstanding features are a new patented suspension dampening system, smooth, lightweight and with a low centre of gravity, which is fully adjustable without the need for disassembly and the compression and rebound dampening rates are controllable and consistent. The other thing is the drive train that combines the benefits of shaft and belt drive systems, without the negative side effects such as so-called ‘torque steer’, associated with shaft drive RC cars.
