Model Rectifier Corporation are to release their new Academy GV2 Pro buggy this month. The car was displayed last weekend in Vineland NJ at the “Trinity East Coast Champs” and can been seen in these pictures posted on rctech.net. The buggy which arrived at the MRC headquarters just hours before the race was not raced due to its late arrival.

Since winning the IFMAR World Championships in 2005 the BJ4 Worlds Edition has been the most successful 1/10th 4wd off-road racing buggy available. It made its debut at the 2005-2006 IFMAR World Championships in Collegno, Italy, and Ryan Maifield & Ryan Cavalieri drove their respective BJ4 Worlds buggies to the top qualifying position and 1st place. OFNA are to release a new GTP chassis that will be available as a preassembled kit that’s tweaked for dirt oval racing. The Dirt Oval GTP has many of the on-road version’s hot new features, but it will include a direct drive center spool with steel spur gear and a pair of 1/2 inch offset hex adapters to increase the track on the right side of the chassis for improved oval weight distribution. Standard hex adapters are included the box, along with treaded street radials for racers who want to set it up for pavement driving. The chassis will not include an engine, body or electronics but OFNA say the new car will have a super low street price.

Japanese company Active Hobby have released this first picture of what they are describing as a new and purely original 1/12 scale electric powered touring car design. Called the A210ss the all wheel drive chassis, which is set for release in December, features fully adjustable long span suspension and will run on supplied 54mm rubber tires. Active Hobby will annouce further details of the A210ss in October.

Serpent have just announced that they are to return to off road racing and have signed one of the sports top designers in the process. Gerd Strenge, better known as Mr.Durango from Germany, has entered into a long-term cooperation with Serpent, for the development of offroad rc racing cars. Strenge is famous in the electric offroad scene, for his very innovative Team Durango 1/10 scale 4wd offroad project. Gerd started this project in 2002 and he has been developing the car ever since. His Team Durango car has been European Champion and his cars have reached many GP, EC and even WC finals in the hands of famous drivers like Hara and Marc Reinhard.
This obviously also announces a return of Serpent in the offroad arena. Serpent has been very active in 1/8 offroad racing from mid 80-ties until late 80-ties. Cars like the legendary and EC winning Serpent Cobra and its successor the Serpent Spirit.

Mugen have release this new optional battery holder for there MRX-4X. Made from carbon fiber, the holder is claimed to make the car more responsive by improving the rigidity of the 1:8 onroad chassis.

Kimihiko Yano have shown the first pictures of the new CRC Generation-X JSpec 1/12th scale chassis that has been co-developed between them and CRC in the USA. The car above in the picture is a prototype but when released it will come with a softer 2.21mm chassis plate, a 3mm longer wheelbase, adjustable battery mounting position and much more. The car is still being tested and should hope to be finalised before the Japanese nationals later in the year.

We wrote about the truggy version of the DuraTrax Raze 2 months ago and now the 1/8th scale buggy, a good value gas powered RTR which the truggy is based on, has received an upgrade. This new version of the Raze now features a heavy-duty ball-bearing steering servo with metal gears to allow it to stand up to high-torque racing action. Also new are the 20 ball bearings for smoother driving, higher speeds and longer-lasting performance and the new paint trim scheme in six pre-painted colours with race-legal clear windows.
