LC Racing PTG-1 1/10 4wd racing buggy

LC Racing have introduced their latest release, the PTG-1 1/10 4wd racing buggy. An all new platform, it does still use some suspension parts and geometry from their LC10B5. The PTG-1 will be sold as a factory built roller without any electronics and features a single main shaft, driven directly by the rear mounted motor. It also comes as standard with some of the competition parts from the LC10B5 like the front & rear high capacity oil filled gear diffs and front & rear CVDs. Other features include a hardened aluminium chassis with front kickup, fully sealed drivetrain with easy diff access and front 4mm & rear 3.5mm fibre composite shock towers.

Mugen Seiki MBX8R Eco EP 1/8th buggy

With the success of the MBX8R kit, Mugen Seiki is now offering a MBX8R Eco that includes many of the same parts from the MBX8R. The team at Mugen Seiki spent a lot of time testing and developing the MBX8R geometry in race conditions throughout 2021, which lead to many major victories resulting in the MBX8R Eco having many new parts to increase stability, rear traction, improved jumping, and have a wide tuning range. The suspension has seen new suspension mounts and geometry, new longer box-shaped suspension arms and arm stiffeners as well as a new front shock tower and upper front arm mount that uses new pivot inserts for increased tuneability. The MBX8R Eco chassis features a slightly new design to accommodate the new suspension geometry while on top there is a new battery mount for 4S shorty and standard batteries. High Traction Differentials are included in the MBX8R Eco. The Mugen Seiki HTD provides increased acceleration, longer runtime, and more consistent handling. A lightweight high down-force wing allows more air to flow to improve jumping while a revised rear wing mount will provide additional downforce and increase durability. Other final updates include new sway bar collars to reduce sway bar movement, emulsion shock caps, aluminium wing button and updated centre diff cover with holes for lightening.

Axon TC10/2 touring car

Having teased its release 3 weeks ago, Axon have now released full details on their new TC10/2, BD10 conversion kit. The machine has been reborn with an extremely low centre of gravity and at the same time the area around the front and rear bulkheads, which is important for suspension functions that affect cornering performance, has been substantially redesigned. The new design maximises the performance of the high big bore shock III super short, achieving less roll during cornering while at the same time ensuring reliable suspension movement. The upper bulkheads and front & rear shock towers have been newly designed to lower the machine’s centre of gravity and maximise the function of the oil dampers and springs. The upper bulkhead is made of 7075 aluminium to ensure rigidity while maintaining a slim and lightweight shape. The shock tower design is based on a separate layout with short spans for high rigidity at both the front & rear to ensure that the oil dampers and springs work properly. In addition, the height of the left and right oil dampers are designed to be the same, which is a weak point of separate shock towers.

Willspeed RF2 conversion for Cougar LD2

Willspeed have produced their RF2 conversion for the Schumacher Cougar LD2. The conversion platform was designed and manufactured by engineers and racers alike for the true ultimate in performance on medium to high traction surfaces. The RF2 design focuses on moving the weight bias forwards by utilising a 5 gear transmission which allows the motor position to be moved further forwards creating a smaller located area of main mass which aids to control weight transfer. The billet aluminium tub chassis is the ultimate in chassis design, the centre of gravity is super low, the chassis has no additional guards or stiffeners removing unwanted tweak and is self integrally stiff. The aluminium selected for its natural dampening properties this not only allows for an incredibly agile platform its also super predictable. The end result, a platform that not only loves corner speed but it is also dependable and predictable lap after lap making going fast, easy.

Team Associated RC8B4 & B4e Team kit

Team Associated have released their new RC8B4 and B4e 1/8th buggies. Innovative front-end geometry with reduced kingpin inclination steering blocks places the wheel pivot in the centre of the front tire for increased stability and consistent steering through the entire steering throw. New gearboxes are specific to front and rear, with the front gearbox featuring a 3.5 deg. inclined pinion gear angle to straighten the centtr driveshaft for increased drivetrain efficiency and reduced phasing and vibration. The rear gearbox features a 0 deg. pinion gear angle and centre mounted rear chassis brace mount. A new front upper suspension arm design is designed to accommodate a wide range of flex and stiffness options with optional inserts to be made available for fine tuning flex and stiffness and will fit on the top or bottom of the arm. The arms also includes a moulded ‘wing’ insert for increased front-end downforce. There is also a new rear suspension and front lower suspension arm design too. A new rear wing mount has adjustable wing angle shims, significant strength improvements, an aerodynamic shape and extra clearance for shock position adjustment. The rear wing itself has more vertical fins for increased straight-line stability, a taller rear wickerbill height for increased downforce, increased strength in various areas to reduce bending fatigue and dimples on the backside as a template for cutout holes. Other updates include the rear chassis brace, new +1mm offset rear hub and for the gas version, a new fuel tank with many new features.
