MaxAmps internal plug low-resistance packs

MaxAmps announces the new internal plug option for the Race Edition 6500 7.4v 150c and the 5450 7.4v 120C LiPo packs. Unlike other bullet style connectors, there is no chance of reversing polarity since both the balancer and main Traxxas HC plugs are keyed and they are specifically designed for vehicles with longer battery trays. The balancer tap is also built into the pack and offers a very clean look, both inside and outside of your vehicle.

Racers Edge 4000mah 60C Lite Series LiPo

Racers Edge introduce their 7.4V 2S 4000mAh 60C Lite series battery pack. The battery sports regular 2S dimensions, is 23mm tall and weights only 226g. Making use of the short pack cell the standard size battery lowers the overall weight of the car without the need to re-balance the vehicle. The hardcase battery comes including Deans wire set and with JST-XH style balance plug.

ORCA VX electronic speed controller

ORCA RC have introduced the all new VX ESC, used by Alexander Hagberg to win last weekend’s 4th round of the Euro Touring Series. The new VX ESC utilizes the proprietary ORCA FET that are being used in a ESC for the first time. The new proprietary FETs provide the ORCA VX ESC with ORCA Power Delivery System (OPD) and ORCA Mosfet Braking System (OMB). The new VX also has a vertical heat sink plane that extend the heatsink’s efficiency for better heat dissipation and featuring a translucent case that allows the VX logo engraved within to shine thru.

ProTek R/C Sport Race 25C 3S LiPo pack

A Main Hobbies’ brand ProTek R/C announces its new “Sport Race” 25C LiPo Hard Case Battery Pack (11.1V/5000mAh) with Traxxas plug installed. This 3S  pack has been developed specifically for Traxxas 3S LiPo applications and is recommended for the Traxxas Slash VXL, Slash 4×4 VXL, E-Revo Brushless, E-Maxx Brushless and XO-1 vehicles. The battery features a genuine Traxxas High-Current Connector for the ultimate in efficiency, ease of use and high current handling capabilities for charging/discharging, as well as a 4-pin Align/E-Flite style XH balance connector for balancing. Although these are not ROAR approved hardcase batteries, they are built using a hard lexan shell to help prevent damage in the event of a crash.

Dualsky Z5 challenge motor

FEMCA EP Offroad Champs – Day 1 update

The FEMCA Championships for electric offroad are currently being held in Japan at the Yatabe Arena. The event is open to racers in the FEMCA region which includes all of Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. Friday saw the first action on the track for the 2wd class with 5 rounds of qualifying with the best 3 to count. The top 6 go direct to the main final and the remaining 4 drivers bump up from the lower final. Following the 5 rounds of qualifying it was Akimoto Kota that took the pole position for Kyosho ahead of Kikuchi Kai driving a Yokomo with Sanpei Tatsuya in 3rd for Kyosho. Meen Vejrak from Thailand is the only non Japanese driver in the top 16 sitting 4th with a Yokomo, Maezumi Satoshi (Tamiya) and Enomoto Keisuke (Yokomo) complete the top 6 direct qualifiers. Tomorrow sees the 4wd qualifying run before the finals are run on Sunday to decide the FEMCA Champion.
