JConcept precut chassis protective sheet

JConcept precut chassis protective sheet

A high-end item used for many years on the performance side of R/C racing is the chassis protective sheet. For years, drivers have hand-cut and fitted their chassis with a clear material protecting the new chassis look and also providing a smooth or slick surface to decrease friction between chassis and dirt surfaces. JConcepts has hit the easy and glamor button at the same time and is now offering a precut and graphically pleasing chassis protective sheet for the most popular 1/10th off-road vehicles on the market. With 2 pieces included per package, the durable and low-resistance material fits each chassis layout like a glove and adds protection and style in one easy package. Available for the Associated B4.2, T4.2, B44.2, SC10, SC10B, TLR22, 22T, 22SCT, RB6, ZX5 FS2, DEX210 and DEX410.

VRC Pro introduce virtual opponents

VRC Pro introduce virtual opponents

VRC Pro have introduced their new event structure with virtual opponents. With this new mode they introduce the possibility to challenge yourself to race while opponents from your own heat or final are also on the track so you can now experience exactly the same sensations and pressure you experience in your real r/c racing. You may ask ‘why not multi-player events then?’ Multi-player requires you and your opponents to all race together, at exactly the same time. If we had no time zones that would be less of a problem, but we have. As much as 12 to 15 hours time difference makes it practically impossible to organize multi-player competitions on a world wide scale. By introducing ‘virtual opponents’ we have come up with a solution that is almost as good. The opponents are actually selected from your own heat or main final. They may have raced a few hours before you but with this mode we can still bring all these runs together as if you are all at the track at the same time.

AKA SC tire line gets updated

AKA SC tire line gets updated

Seen during our coverage of the recent Cactus Classic, AKA have officially announced that their short course tire line just got wider. After the release of the Handlebar on the new wider carcass, they now have the Enduro 2, Cityblock 2, Handlebar STD and Wishbone 2, all on the wider carcass. Each tire has a bigger footprint to create more traction while staying in spec with the 2.2/3.0 short course tire specifications. The Handlebar STD (Standard Tread Depth) features a taller pin height ideal for hard packed or blue-groove outdoor tracks, while the already released Handlebar tackles the indoor tracks with its Low Tread Depth. The Wishbone 2 has been updated with a denser tread pattern for more traction and longer tire wear, ideal for indoor tracks. The Enduro 2 maintains its bestselling tread pattern and tread density while the Cityblock 2 has been opened up a bit to allow the tire tread to dig in deeper while still having superior wear characteristics. AKA have also updated their short course inserts which feature an asymmetrical core to add additional support to the outer sidewall of SC tires. These have been designed to fit perfectly into the new wider short course tire line but will fit other tires as well. Available in both of AKA’s industry standard closed-cell foams, Red (Soft) and Black (Medium).
