Exotek JRX-S Type R LiPo top plate

In news that is really only of interest to our friend Lucas Urbain from France, Exotek Racing have released this LiPo top plate for the Losi JRX-S Type R. Made from 2.3mm carbon fibre, it is designed to enhance rubber tire performance by generating similar chassis flex traits of the current generation of sedans giving slightly more flex, but not too much. It also allows the use of bullet connector type batteries. The set includes self threading battery plate screw down tabs to eliminate the need for the stock alloy versions.

Video – How to glue the Pro-Line Caliber SC tire

The video above from Pro-Line Racing shows a neat trick on how to glue your SC tires to the wheels that ensures it wont bulge on the 2.2″ side. It adds a little extra work but the result is a secure tire that gives consistent performance and wont let you down when out on the track.

Hudy 500cc fuel bottle

Hudy have released this large 500cc capacity fuel bottle. Made of specially-mixed plastic material it is easy to squeeze yet easily returns to its original shape. The long, black anodized aluminum spout with curved neck is threaded into the bottle neck, and the airtight rubber cap prevents spillage.

These high precision wheel nuts are flanged and knurled for locking security and feature a closed end to protect from dirt and debris build-up in the axle or hub. Available in blue and black the wheel nuts are intended for use with Associated, Mugen, Losi, Kyosho, Hot Bodies and Xray vehicles.

Speed Passion GT2.1 EX series ESC

Speed Passion have announced the release of their brand new GT2.1 EX series, ideally designed for 1/12th scale applications and 1/10th WGT racing. It feature the all new “Auto-detect” power input that automatically selects the number of cells and there are no need to use a voltage booster or external receiver battery pack even using the single cell LiPo battery. It has the ultra-low profile heat sink design that is flush with the case and it will fit all the 12th scale bodies and 10th scale WGT bodies without any rubbing problem. It is also a perfect fit for 2WD off road buggy which need to be very low in height in order to fit their body.

Tamiya TRF417 coming soon

Tamiya will announce their new TRF417 electric touring car at next month’s Plamodel hobby show in Japan. The successor to the double World Champion 416, the new car is more about fine tuning a winning package than huge changes. With the use of LiPo and brushless motors now used exclusively, the changes include a new super rigid motor mount with an updated motor position. Other changes include a new internal ratio, new chassis layout, battery mounting, an updated ball diff design and updated steering system. Expect to get the official word from Tamiya in and around the middle of October.

RB Engine bearing tool set

RB have developed handy tool set for working with .12, .21 and .28 engine bearings, both front and rear. Removing the front bearing is now very easy and smooth with this special tool and it also allow you to fit both the front and rear bearing into the crankcase of your engine, whatever the size and brand. For high accuracy, this tool has been made from ground steel and the set comes supplied in a plastic box with the instruction manual. Fit all the engines with the following diameters, 11.5, 12, 13, 14, 14.2 & 14.5mm. The rear bearing extraction still requires the previously available RB tool.

X-Power dNano tires, motors & more

X-Power continues to release new products for dNano racers. First up are the foam racing wheels available in four compounds, very soft, soft, medium and hard. The foam tires are pre-mounted and glued to lightweight racing wheels, eliminating the possibility of lost tires during important racing heats. Also new is two new motors, the XTreme for high speed & elevated torque. It has 40-50% more speed and 30% more torque than the previously released ‘hot’ motor and the Radical Black for super torque & elevated speed. It has 35-40% more speed and 40% more torque than the ‘hot’ motor. Additional items include 1:43 scale racing stickers, optional spoiler kit, easy adjust differential & conversion kit as well a much more.
