Bezerk MTS T2/3 battery hooks

Bezerk RC have released a new option part for the RaceOpt T2 and T3 touring car in the form of a battery hooks set. The battery posts are located as close to the side and centre of the battery as possible to reduce the stress on the upper retaining tab while the 5mm thick battery hooks are beefy enough to take a beating and high enough to keep the battery in its place. The mounting holes are slotted to allow a small amount of left/right adjustment and the 3mm upper tabs look minimal in size but due to their placement are more than up to the task. Bezerk recommend shimming the upper battery tab up around 0.5mm above the battery to reduce any chances of tweak. The kit includes two battery hooks, two battery tabs and two black alloy hex standoffs. Other options include shorter standoffs for very low batteries – standard 17mm, option 15mm – and they are also available in silver.

Team Associated B74 Factory Team optionals

Team Associated have announced the release of new Factory Team option parts for the B74 buggy. First up is a centre differential that allows the vehicle to distribute power from the motor to the front and rear driveline variably, which can provide more grip. The balance of front-to-rear drive can be tuned using different thickness diff fluids. The set includes the complete centre diff assembly, including easy to swap 78T and 72T spur gears.

Exotek FGX Evo EFX2 carbon chassis conversion

Exotek have announced the release of their new and improved 2nd generation performance pro chassis conversion for the 3Racing FGX Evo. The set completely updates the FGX Evo into a track worthy competitor by changing out the electronics layout for optimal weight bias and more importantly drops significant weight from the base car. It gives owners that competitive edge by combining the independent suspension of the FGX with an extra lightweight yet more durable chassis package. Key features include a nearly 100g weight cut versus the stock components, a 10mm shortened wheelbase for increased corner speeds and more on power grip as well as an adjustable forward or back LiPi cradle system with lateral battery mounting accepts standard shorty batteries. It allows adjusting weight bias on the fly as track conditions require. Also included are a heavy duty top plate system that provides better durability and lower centre of gravity over the stock plate. A new F104 style chassis mounted wing allows mounting of more durable and lighter F104/Xray wings. The alloy front IFS mounting plate ensures secure IFS suspension operation and a machined front damper set with a “soft” spring set has much softer yet plush damping compared to the stock units. This greatly improves steering response and the ability to soak up bumps.

Trinity ultra lightweight aluminium pinion gears

Trinity have introduced their new ultra lightweight aluminium pinion gears. Offering a minimalistic design and a thin appearance, the gears are over 25 percent lighter than previous gears, and are comparable with thin plastic gears in terms of weight. The latter however are very delicate and can often strip, with the alloy gears offering exceptional strength for their low weight and thin design. The hard-coated gears are available in 64 pitch and 48 pitch variants and in a wide range of tooth sizes.

Ramp introduce new XB4/2, B6.1 & B74 carbon optionals

Austrian brand Ramp have announced the release of new option parts for the Xray XB4 and XB2, as well as the Team Associated B6.1 and B74 buggies. First up is a carbon fibre shorty LiPo mount for the XB4 buggy. The design allows to use it with both 18.5mm tall LCG and standard height 25mm packs while adjustable battery stops do away with unsightly foam blocks to secure the battery in its current position. The set contains a carbon fibre strap, two battery posts, screws and clips. Also new are new design carbon wing protectors for the Xray XB2 and XB4 as well as the Team Associated B6.1 and B74 buggies. The protectors offer a large contact surface for less stress on the wing during upside down action, while four different mounting screw positions allows to adjust stiffness and overall downforce.

RC Maker A800 MMCX Slimflex topdeck

RC Maker have introduced their new Slimflex topdeck for the Awesomatix A800X mid motor MMCX chassis. Designed to reduce the profile of the topdeck, it has been optimised to improve the flex characteristics in low traction asphalt and carpet conditions. It increases the overall torsional flex of the chassis both front and rear resulting in more overall grip. The flex can be altered by either using ST019 screw or removing it from the topdeck. Together with the use of the screws under the motor mount, owners can access a large range of flex characteristics, just like the standard topdeck, but with increased “overall” flex throughout the whole footprint. The rear brace is designed to act as a spring, restricting bulkhead flex at this point but not totally removing it like the standard topdeck. RC Maker recommend using their Med Flex Link, or Flex Dampener on the front of the front bulkheads to remove and excess “over-flexing” of the bulkheads. Additional flex can also be obtained by cutting the rear carbon tab on the topdeck with a Dremel, to increase the length of the flex point to further, increasing flex in the rear of the car. Recommended uses of the Slimflex topdeck include low to medium traction carpet with aluminium chassis, low to medium traction asphalt with carbon chassis and high traction asphalt with aluminium chassis.

Kyosho Ultima RB7SS 2WD stock racing buggy kit

Kyosho have announced the soon release of the stock racing specific Ultima RB7SS 1/10th scale 2WD buggy kit. The buggy build on the proven RB7 but includes some useful optionals for the highly competitive 17.5T stock motor class such as a lightweight aluminium ball differential, aluminium driveshafts and alloy front wheel axles. Also included are a slipper eliminator hub for the spur gear, a 0.6mm lightweight body shell and a revised rear suspension geometry for optimised roll characteristics. However, all parts are compatible with the standard RB7, allowing for easy parts carrying and the ability to use the stock specific parts in the “modified” buggy. The kit is rounded out by a low-friction 48dp aluminium pinion gear, as well as X-Gear springs, diff and high-graphite grease. The kit is meant to hit stores this July.
