Venom VMX 450 options

Stealth-Super-Moto-Tyres

Venom got in touch to tell us about a whole load of option parts for their VMX 450 dirt bike in the form of the Stealth Super Moto Tyres, a front brake disc brake and aluminium parts in different colours. The tyres are specially designed for street and road courses, feature scale wear indicator strips for added realism and to help with traction in wet conditions. Available as set inducing front and rear tyre with hard contour inserts, or as parts only with the tyres and inserts sold separately. To help with looks and performance Venom also released a number of option parts in the form of a nylon guide wire set, a front disc brake kit, and an alloy triple clamp and body post set both of which are available with red or titanium grey anodising. Also available are a heavy duty alloy gear support, alloy rear shock absorber with dirt deflector, a 32T option rear sprocket and a wheelie bar wire.

The tread design features large lugs for class leading tread life, perfectly balanced tread spacing for maximum forward bite and uniquely blended side tread that reduces the edginess found in other race tires. This tire will give you qualifying speed with tread life capable of handling hour long A-mains.

With the growing popularity of the electric 1/8 GT class, it was obvious some changes were needed in the tires. Because of the extraordinary torque an electric motor creates, there is a lot of stress on the tires. The new improved Sweep EXP45 GT tires have been redesigned to provide more forward traction, come up to race temperature quicker and maintain optimum operating temperature. This results in greater acceleration out of the corner, fewer warm up laps and more consistent performance throughout the run.

Pro-Line have shown us their new Blockade buggy tire and the Revolver 2.0 for truggy. The Blockade is an all new tire featuring a larger block with wider spacing between the rows along the circumference, giving good traction levels. Fitting into the range between the Caliber & Revolver tires and is great for racers running longer finals where durability is important. The Revolver 2.0 for truggy is bringing the same technology from the buggy tire, of the same name, to the larger format and is again ideal for longer finals.

After extensive testing with molded grooved foam inserts, Sweep Racing have focused their efforts on the development of new closed cell foam inserts. Closed cell foam inserts have many performance benefits over conventional designs, such as increased durability, waterproof, reduced tire deformation during cornering and lighter in weight. These characteristics make their Cloud 9 buggy insert a major improvement over their previous designs. Sweep drivers have reported increased cornering capability and improved acceleration. The Cloud 9 inserts are scheduled to arrive at dealers very soon.

This tire provides everything the modern touring car racer needs, consistent traction throughout the entire length of a race along with excellent tire life. Based on the optimum overall diameter of 64.8mm, the carcass has been re-designed to fit Sweep’s inserts perfectly, providing more consistent performance, while the new improved sidewall design is developed to create better cornering traction and wear characteristics. The OG Spec tire has been selected as the official tire for the 2011 Xray Challenge Series and initial impressions were very positive, performing brilliantly at the 1st round of the series at West Coast RC Raceway.
