AKA R-Line SC tires with red insert

AKA have announced the update of all their current 1:10 SC tire and insert combos with their new red insert. The fluted I.D. of the soft red insert allows it to absorb the heavy hits while still having enough internal structure to retain it’s shape and stiffness in the turns to keep corner speeds up. The result is more consistent handling on a wider variety of surfaces with less compromise. R-Line tire and insert combos will be replacing their current tire and insert combo tires and they will be discontinuing the older numbers as supplies run out.

Combine these two new revolutionary products with the quality and endurance of AKA tires and the sum is the most technically advanced pre-mounted tires ever offered for 1:8 buggies. The Evo pre-mounts will be replacing the current pre-mounts starting March 4th and they will be discontinuing the older numbers as supplies run out. AKA also announced the update of all their current 1:8 Buggy and 1:10 SC tire and insert combos with their new red insert. JConcepts Hybird & 3Ds buggy tires

JConcepts Hybird & 3Ds buggy tires

JConcepts have officially released their two new race winning tire designs debuted at the IFMAR Worlds last November. Hybrids are already a successful tire dominating at events such as the CRCRC Midwest Championships and the popular Motorama event. Supported lug control and X-braced sidewall lug detail is designed to go the distance in long qualifiers, final main events and beyond. The 3Ds were the hottest tire on the slick groove surface at the recent JConcepts Clash where Ryan Maifield TQ’ed in convincing fashion. Pro-Line soft SC closed cell inserts

While at the Dirt Nitro Challenge we were given a sneak look at the soon to be released soft SC closed cell inserts. After extensive testing with Pro Short Course drivers like Ryan Cavalieri, they found that a softer insert is desirable in racing conditions. Like all of Pro-Line’s closed cell foam, this insert is ultra-durable, water-proof and shaped to exactly match the profile of the tires.

JConcepts Profiled SC insert

Tire inserts are one of the most critical aspects of Short Course off-road racing. Racers have asked JConcepts for a firmer and more durable insert and after much deliberation the new JConcepts Profiled insert is ready. Having the insert with proper density for track conditions pays dividends to the racer and especially toward the end of races. Starting on too firm an insert, the driver feels ‘on edge’ during the first run or subsequent runs on a set of inserts. Starting on too soft an insert, the driver’s vehicle is not responsive enough or runs the risk of too much insert breakdown during the tail end of a tires life which creates a squirmy or inconsistent feel. Having the feel that is just right requires a bit of balance of durability and hardness. To add to the construction and performance, JConcepts has added cut / grooves into the profile of the inserts to add an even greater driver to track feel.
