CS Electronic MZ1 tire cleaner

CS Electronic MZ1 tire cleaner

CS Electronic have introduced their new MZ1 tire cleaner, which was specially developed for use on Mini-Z racers. Previously Mini-z tires would be cleaned with something like WD-40 which would degrease the tires unevenly which lead to degradation and poor performance and could even dissolve the glue holding it to the rim. The MZ1 tire cleaner takes away all of these problems giving an even cleaning leaving them optimally prepared for the next run.

Twister Tires ends deal with ATS

Contrary to Twister Tires’ previous announcement, Kevin Hutchinson and DJ Apolaro have now stated that they will not in fact carry Twister/ATS tires any longer. Here is what they had to say about the changes of plan:

After 2.7 years of helping build the ATS/Twister tire brand’s reputation in the Western Hemisphere, we want to say thanks to our customers and sorry for the recent delays. We are in the process of introducing a new tire line, spearheaded by Piero Torregiani (former head man with ATS). Our new product is currently being developed to ensure our customers get an even better product than before, along with the same great customer service. Please bear with us during these next few months and be assured you won’t be disappointed.

Sweep Racing Exagon tires

Sweep Racing Exagon tires

Sweep Racing have announced that their all new Exagon tires had a great first outing on the 2010 IFMAR Pre Worlds with local privateer Champ Khunthin taking 4th. These tires were the results of running at the Buggy Party race in Pattaya Beach back in December. The pattern features dual step hexagon pins for maximum forward traction, best cornering speeds and the most on-power steering possible. Unlike other past tires, EXP Exagon incorporates “EXP Cavity” into the tire design, which give the tires wider and flatter tread on the terrain. They also incorporate the side wall beads for a quicker response. You can also trim these beads and the outer edge pins to control the side bite. Sweep also went to the RC Mania track located near Bangkok which is well known for their rough surface and ran for 90 minutes and found the pattern remained in good condition unlike other brands. They  pushed it even further by mounting the same set of tires to the EXP Factory Pilot Ryan Lee’s machine to participate in a control practice race. His times were better than that of other drivers with brand new tires. Available in soft (red) and extra soft (blue) compound and pre glued on white or yellow wheels.

AKA Enduro 1/8th buggy tire

AKA Enduro 1/8th buggy tire

AKA have announced the release of their Enduro tire, the latest tire in AKA’s arsenal of tires to suit different track conditions. Based on a fresh take on tread design, the Enduro is built on a complete redesigned carcass which features a stiffer sidewall for better cornering and internal ribbing to help keep the tire more stable when used on the softer proprietary AKA compounds. The large cross cut lugs offer long tread life yet allow the lugs to fold over and bite into the harshest conditions. Expect the super soft version at the beginning of March, with the Soft and Medium versions to be released by the end of that month.

Pro-Line Slash Chassis saver & Caliber 2.2″ tires

Pro-Line Slash Chassis saver & Caliber 2.2" tires

Pro-Line have released two new items, the first being the chassis saver for the Traxxas Slash. During track testing of the ProTrac kit for Slash, it became clear to the Pro-Line development team that the the short course truck’s chassis had a weakness resulting in numerous broken chassis and shortened track sessions. To resolve the issue they created this chassis saver set, which strengthens the rear shock tower mounting ears. The second new item from Pro-Line is the 1:10 Caliber 2.2″ truck tires. The Caliber takes tire technology to the next level by optimizing traction, control, balance, and tire wear with its dual-stage design. The smaller top pin penetrates through loose dirt while delivering unbelievable side and forward bite. The base pin works as a support for the top pin while acting as a dual-stage design once the top pin is worn down. You can rely on the base pin for greater tread life wear and it works well on those tracks that are prone to blue-groove or have a super clean surface.
