Hot Race introduce improved 1/8th on-road rims

Hot Race introduce improved 1/8th on-road rims

Italian company Hot Race Tyres have introduced updated rims for their pre-mounted 1/8th on-road wheels. Offering optimised flex characteristics due to new spoke reinforcements the rims will make for better traction and less strain of the outer wheel portion. This will also lead to a more consistent tyre throughout the run and overall improved performance. On top of this the new wheels will also improve the car’s handling in high traction conditions as it makes for a smoother and faster ride. The new wheels will hit the stores at the end of March.

CRC introduce new Formula rim & pre-mounted tyres

CRC introduce new Formula rim & pre-mounted tyres

New from Calandra Racing Concepts come new Formula rims and pre-mounted tyres. Starting with the Pro-Mount wheels, the rims are purpose-designed for the use with rubber tyres, such as CRC’s RT-1, the TCS F1 and the Pit Shimizu F1 line of tyres. With moulded-in mounting ribs, the Pro-Mount offers an improvement over some other wheels that are nothing more than foam tyre rims without guidance ribs. With CRC’s new wheel the rib guides the tyre bead in the right place, not allowing the tyre to be mounted too far on the wheel, making tyre mounting much easier. Swinging over to the pre-mounted tyres, they come pre-glued and are ready to have fun. The RT-1 tyres have already proven themselves in the World GT-R category of racing. The high-performance belted tyres are of super long wear, providing multiple seasons of use on carpet surfaces. They mount to CRC’s new Pro-Mount wheel and come in sets of four and they will be available in limited quantities in mid March.

AKA Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre

AKA Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre

Coming soon from AKA is the Zipps 1/8th buggy tyre. Designed with durability and stability in mind for today’s high wear and high grip tracks, the Zipps features a very dense symmetrical block tread pattern with a centre staggered rib. The dense block pattern puts as much rubber on track as possible while still allowing dust to clear from the tyre patch.  This enables superior wear and stability while remaining controllable off line in the dust. The centre rib decreases rolling resistance on the straights and creates a very stable platform in the centre of the tyre. AKA have also updated the block design to allow for more deflection which allows the block to flex a bit more front to rear to gain forward bite while still remaining stable side to side. The tyre will be available in soft, super soft, long wear soft and long wear medium compounds.

JConcepts LiL Chasers 1/8th buggy tyre

JConcepts LiL Chasers 1/8th buggy tyre

JConcepts have introduced the LiL Chasers 1/8th buggy tyre. Relying on a tread scaled down from the original Chasers, the small, rectangular lugs are angular in multiple directions, giving the tyre the ultimate bite for outdoor racing. It also has a lower, closer lug arrangement which gives exceptional responsiveness and bite in medium, high and low grip conditions. The wet and dry condition tyre has small recessed cuts in the top of the tread for extra edges and increased formability over terrain while the centre’s overlapping bar treatment increases durability in the highest wear region. The tyre is available in blue, green and black compound including Dirt-Tech inserts and also as pre-mounted green compound tyre.

JConcepts Triple Dees 1/8th buggy tyres

JConcepts Triple Dees 1/8th buggy tyres

Coming from JConcepts are the Triple Dees 1/8th buggy tyres. The tyres sport a tread design that was developed for loose and tacky track conditions. Starting with finely spaced square mini lugs the tyre also features an overlapping and blended centre bar structure. The bar draws up the side of the pin to maintain all important support but the main stance is low so the tyre maintains its clean-out ability during acceleration. The main-stay of the tyre is the angled and sharp pins which spread across the carcass in an open pattern touching off the track surface. Near the side-wall the pins have been trimmed and angled to give racers a smooth driving experience as they enter and exit tacky turns or slightly rough terrain. The inside of the carcass includes a standardised triple radial rib design which helps control expansion during high-speed runs. The Triple Dees is available in grippy compounds such has blue, green and black and it comes including Dirt-Tech inserts and also as pre-mounts on white or yellow wheels.
