JConcepts Diamond Bar 1/8th buggy tyre

JConcepts Diamond Bar 1/8th buggy tyre

New from JConcepts comes the the Diamond Bar, named after the shape and longer horizontal bar. The design offers exceptional wear characteristics on hard surfaces and blends consistency with speed and durability thanks to a dual stage, tapered design which allows for exponentially less wear over time. Loads of forward bite combined with a neutral steering characteristic make the tyre also easy to drive and highly capable. Like all new JConcepts tyres the Diamond Bar include Dirt-Tech inserts and the tyre is available in a range of compounds and also as pre-mounts.

JConcepts Chasers black compound 1/8th buggy tyres

JConcepts Chasers black compound 1/8th buggy tyres

JConcept’s Chasers 1/8th scale buggy tyres are now available in the popular black compound. The Chasers rely on hefty, medium lugs which are angular in multiple directions. The horizontal type tread has a striking similarity to the trusty Crossbow tyre but the Chasers have a lower, closer lug arrangement which gives improved responsiveness and bite in medium, high and low grip conditions. The wet and dry condition tyre has small recessed cuts in the top of the tread for extra edges and increased formability over terrain. The centre overlapping bar treatment increases durability in the highest wear region of the tire. Included with the tyre come grey-colour Dirt-Tech inserts.

JConcepts Scorpios 2.2″ crawler tyre

JConcepts Scorpios 2.2" crawler tyre

JConcepts have unveiled the new Scorpios 2.2″ all-terrain crawling and rock racing tyre. Ideal for vehicles like the Axial Yeti, the Scorpios scale looking tread, extra tall 152mm size and profile, jump out as the most obvious features. The padded arrangement of tread makes the tyre ideal for transitioning from the hard road to dirt and then into rocky and uneven terrain. Once power is applied to the vehicle, the tread spacing opens up which allows for some deep digging making it a great working tire in dirt and muddy conditions. The flexibility of the compound combined with the close arrangement gives the tyre a grippy feel but still maintains that all important look. The large overall height provides plenty of ground clearance for an abundance of terrain and internal grid ribbing help maintain its upright structure during hard loads and on power bursts. The tyres include a soft open cell foam insert capable of standing up the super soft compound but flexible enough for sharp terrain.

JConcepts Ruptures 2.2″ crawler tyres

JConcepts Ruptures 2.2" crawler tyres

New from JConcepts comes the Ruptures 2.2″ crawler tyre for vehicles such as the Axial Yeti. The extremely tacky yet versatile tyre offers a layout of individual “large islands” that react to directional and forward loading characteristics like a soft gummy candy. The long horizontal attack bars are connected with solid sidewall detail which braces the sidewall for the high impact situations. The centre “mini islands” help maintain spinning speed and at half height provide some space to sling clean during those dirtier runs. The entire top level of tread has built-in cuts and recesses which provide a sharp edge. A sidewall radial rib connected with a dual position arrow help maintain stability and help the driver squeak out of a tough situation. The carcass itself is extremely pliable which conforms to the vast majority of obstacles. Inside the carcass, the tyre features a connected “Y” loop ribbing design which blends carefully into the sidewall. The bracing supports the lower half of the tire while maintaining the upper flex characteristics. The 154mm tall tyres include a soft open cell foam insert capable of standing up the super soft compound but flexible enough for sharp terrain.

Pro-Line Prime 1/8th tyre & compound updates

Pro-Line Prime 1/8th tyre & compound updates

Pro-Line’s Prime slick tyre is now also available in a variant for 1/8th off-road buggies while the U.S. company also introduce the Fugitive and Suppressor tyres in hard X1 compound. Starting with the Prime, the tyre formerly was only available for 1/10th vehicles and now it finds its way into 1/8th racing also. The special design targets racing on prepped clay tracks where slick tyres can be an advantage. It features unique grooves that add traction and stability when the track is freshly watered or when there is a slight layer of thin dust that would cause a traditional slick tyre to just spin. The raised treaded portion of the Prime tyre has a distinctive rough surface texture similar to a ground slick and makes the tyre have maximum performance right out of the package. As for the Fugitive and Suppressor, the tyres now come in the firm X1 compound, ideal for demanding track conditions or when racing in high ambient temperatures.
