Jörn Neumann wins German 2wd title

Jörn Neumann wins German 2wd title

This years German 2WD Nationals were hosted by the AMC Langenfeld club last weekend and attracted a total of 93 drivers. Saturday saw three practice runs for everyone as well as three qualifiers. On Sunday there two more qualification runs and the best two out of five would count. Jörn Neumann TQ’d all five rounds with his LRP powered Associated B4 while in 2nd was Benni Gröschel and 3rd Marc Pitsch. A1 was held under sunshine and Jörn took the win followed by Benni and Marc. For A2 the weather changed completely to very heavy rain and Jörn´s car stopped after 1 Lap. Benni took the win in front of Marcus Lübke and Christoper Krapp in 3rd. For the final leg the weather was much better and Jörn could take the win followed by Benni and Marc and that’s how it would end in the overall results too with Neumann taking the overall title ahead of Gröschel in 2nd and Pitsch in 3rd.

Thanks to Jörn Neumann for the report.

Sweep Racing USA signs Randy Pike

Sweep Racing USA signs Randy Pike

Sweep Racing USA have announced that they have signed Randy Pike to their team to run Sweep tires throughout the season. Randy had this to say about the deal:

After extensive testing I have chosen to run Sweep Racing’s line of offroad and onroad tires. Testing at a private test track showed improved tire wear and lower lap times. The Sweep Exagon tire has replaced my regular “go to” tire in my line up. Sweeps latest ribbed tire insert helps prevent tire squirm under high load situations greatly. The overall Sweep tire package gives me improved confidence knowing that I have the right tire for any track I travel to. I look forward with helping Sweep Racing develop even more great tires for the racing world.

Mike Truhe wins 1/8th BL at HRH Shootout

Mike Truhe wins 1/8th BL at HRH Shootout

Mike Truhe is reporting that this past weekend he competed in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy at the Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout. The track was a very tight, small track for the bigger 1/8 cars with tons of traction. Things started off going well, and after some testing, chose to run the Team Losi Racing Taper Pin Tires. I preferred Red compound for rears and silver compound for fronts. Racing started and my car was excellent. I went on to TQ 3 out of the 4 rounds and convincingly won the first two finals taking the overall win. Piloting another Team Losi Racing and Xcelorin equipped vehicle, Matt Chambers rounded out the podium finishing 3rd just behind Jeremy Kortz and his Xcelorin powered buggy.

Wisconsin Nitro Series Rd3 report

Wisconsin Nitro Series Rd3 report

As the summer continues on, so does the Wisconsin Nitro Series. Round 3 was Sunday at the MARRCA Race track located just outside of Madison Wisconsin. A great turnout was expected and that is what we had. 101 entries from 3 different states joined us for an exciting day of racing. We have had some great races so far in the series and round 3 produced even more, but good racing was not the only thing racers had in their future on this beautiful day. The other thing racers had to look forward to was what has become the common theme of the WNS and that is rain. The weather man said this weekend was going to be perfect, well he was wrong. As we started the first round promptly like we do each race at 10am. I checked the radar and saw that there was a large line of storms heading our way that no doubt would affect the later stages of the event. So I decided to shorten the warm-up time between heats in hopes to expedite the program and get all the races in. We also needed to shorten up some of the mains to also ensure we could get all the races in and it worked!
