Joel Myrberg wins South German IS Rd1

Germany’s biggest indoor series, the Bawü cup, ran the first indoor race of the season at the very nice high traction track in Konstanz this last weekend. The race attracted over 70 drivers across all classes, including drivers from 3 different countries including German National A-main finisher Peter Deggelman, Swedish Champion Joel Myrberg, Swiss Champion Sacha Lnenicka and various team drivers from LRP, GM, Robitronic and Corally. The Expert Mod class saw Team Associated and LRP team driver Joel Myrberg set TQ in all 5 qualifying rounds and later he went on to win 2 finals to secure the win in front of 2nd placed Lenicka, while in the stock class GM team driver Daniel Wohlgemuth dominated the race taking TQ and following it up with the win in the first 2 finals.

Brazilian 540-J Class Rd5 report

Brazilian 540-J Class Rd5 report

We received a report from the 5th round of the Brazilian 540-J Class took place last recently at the AARC of ABC track in Santo André. The first final, saw Adalberto Neri take the win by a lap but there was a reversal of roles in the 2nd final as Paulo Guedes won by a lap from Adalbeto with Artur Ueda taking 3rd. The 3rd final and it was Paulo Guedes who started quickly but problems with his pack dropped him down the order, and this allowed Adalberto to take over the lead with Artur taking 2nd from Marcelo Acacio in 3rd. The 4th and final leg saw Neri have an accident on the first lap allowing Artur Ueda to inherit the lead which he held until the dying laps when a recovering Adalberto took the position from him to take the win and confirm the overall win for the day.

Hirosaka takes Japanese National title

Hirosaka takes Japanese National title

The Japanese Electric touring car Nationals were held this weekend, once more at the Yatabe Arena indoor tarmac track. Qualifying for the expert class saw the pole position go to Yokomo racer Masami Hirosaka, ahead of current 2wd World Champion Hayato Matsuzaki in 2nd and recently crowned 1/8th buggy World Champion Atsushi Hara in 3rd. In the finals Masami had the perfect run, winning the first 2 finals to claim the title and sat out the 3rd, which was won by by Matsuzaki which when combined with his 2nd place in leg 2 was enough to give him the runner up spot for Hot Bodies ahead of his team mate Hara who took 3rd.

Heinsbroek wins, Christiaanse takes title

The final race of the Dutch nationals were held on the huge track of M.A.C. Rucphen last weekend. This time the event was only for the stock division because of a delivery failure at the beginning from the season that caused the cancellation of the round for the stock guys. The race only saw 25 competitors take part and after qualifying it was Serpent driver Ronald Arts that took the TQ spot in front of Vasco Christiaanse in 2nd and Corally driver Mario Teakema in 3rd.

Danish Off-Road Nationals Rd7

We received an extensive report from the final race of the electric off road Nationals that was held by Odense RC Mini Race. The club had created the perfect setting for the end of a season which had been exciting and intense in all classes and last but not least, was also helped by great late summer weather, which is actually quite incredible that there has been no rain for the races this year despite it being a rainy summer. Friday arrival most of the drivers and took part in the free practice which continued until Saturday noon when the first heat of five round of qualification was kicked off.

Stephen Hill wins round 2 of ITCS

Ireland’s 190mm EP Touring Car National Championship made a very welcome return to the large St.Annes track, located on the outskirts of the Irish capital of Dublin, where Stephen Hill took a surprise victory in the sunny conditions from Graham Kenny and Keith Dempsey. In qualifying for the second round of the Garmin/Sqeez backed Irish Touring Car Series it was Round 1 winner Alan Bickerstaff who set the pace. The Team Associated driver was the only one of the 25 strong entry to record 17 laps taking TQ ahead of Hill with brothers Graham and Scott Kenny securing row two on the grid.

DHI Cup 2009 – Announcement

The organizers of the 2009 DHI Cup have been in touch to tell us that entry for this fantastic event will begin at 19:00 CET on the 22nd of October. Taking place on the 9th to 11th of January in the same venue as last year, the Sport Arena in Odense, Denmark, this race is a must for all serious electric racers. This year modified class drivers will get 2 sets of controlled tires, while in Super Stock the drivers get 1 set of control tires and a handout GM brushless 9.5T motor. The control tire is Sorex28A with JB Foam inserts mounted on GM wheels. The Super Stock class has a limit of 100 drivers while in Modified it is 120 drivers, so be sure to get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.

Ketil Pettersen wins Norwegian 2wd title

We received a very brief report from the Norwegian 1/10th 2wd buggy Nationals held yesterday at the Kodal track. The weather was great and the track was in good condition despite a lot of rain in the last week. After 3 A-main finals it was Ketil Pettersen, who had started from pole position, that took the Norwegian title from Jostein Helland in 2nd and Ole Steen Karlsen 3rd.
