R1GP Winter Attack Indoor Carpet Race Rd1

Xray have a report on their site from the first round of the R1GP Winter Attack Indoor Carpet Race held in South Korea and organised by our site partners RC Forum. This race was held on a great carpet track in the Olympic Gymnastic Stadium in Seoul and saw 90 people attend which was also the debut race for the new Xray T2007 in Korea. After Xray dominating the proceedings it was a crash between the two leading Xray racers Mun Yong and Ryan Lee that allowed Jang-JiHyun driving a HB to take the win with Lee in 2nd and Xray racer Seo-Dongil in 3rd.

Stocker and Dankel win Rd2 of German Nationals

Stocker and Dankel

Xray have a report on their site about the second round of the German Indoor electric touring Nationals which took place in Erlangen on December 9th & 10th. This event marked the first time that the racing took place with 5 cells in accordance to the new EFRA regulations. The modified class was won by Alexander Stocker who finished ahead of Dominik Fleischmann in 2nd with Felix Bishoff in 3rd whilst in Stock the class was completely dominated by Xray taking all 8 final placings with Erik Dankel taking the win ahead Florian Bernklau in 2nd with Staudinger Christian rounding off the podium in 3rd.

Adam Rogers win Rd3 of Rug Racers Championship

We reported previously on round 3 of the Rug Racers championship held at the Wodson Park Leisure Centre. Well Helger Racing have a more detailed report on the event that saw Adam Rogers take the win in the Modified class ahead of Elliot Harper in 2nd and Kit Jones in 3rd.

During this leg Adam charged hard and it was obvious to everyone that he was getting faster all the time with his new car; he led from start to finish and put in a time that was five seconds faster than his FTD time. His average lap time was faster than everyone, but Elliott Harper held onto the fastest single lap time.

Alex Lopez signs for Schumacher

Alex Lopez sings for Schumacher

Wow it seems everyone wants to get their driver announcements in before the holidays. Latest announcement is that of former Xray driver Alex Lopez, the multiple National Champion signing to race the Schumacher Mi3, but judging by the photo he will have to make do with the Mi2. Alex had this to say about the deal:

I am really looking forward to running a Schumacher. They have some pretty amazing things in the works. The Mi3 is going to blow a lot of people away. I also like that their team is very organized and works as a unit to make everyone go faster. I got my start with Schumacher so this is kind of like coming home. (Alex Lopez)

Andy Griffiths is British 1/12th National Champion

Andy Griffiths has won the 2006 British 1/12th National Championships with 2 rounds still left to run having taken a perfect score from the first 4 rounds of the championship. Whats particularly noteworthy about this title is that it was the first major title in the UK won using a brushless motor, this particular one being from Nosram.

Andy has won many national titles in the past and has made numerous European and World Championships A finals. This result is the first major title for Brushless in the UK and fittingly it was Nosram who pulled it off after lots of hard work and development.

Elliott Harper claims 2nd at Rd3 of Rug Racers

Elliot Harper has written a report on his first race with the HB Cyclone Moorespeed at round 3 of the Rug Racers championships held at the indoor circuit at Ware.Â Elliott could only manage 2nd place in qualifying due to being in a slower heat after a late entry to the event but performed well in the race with only a few small mistakes meaning he could take 2nd position overall.

The second “A” final was a rerun of the first, but at a faster pace than earlier races. This made it both enjoyable driving as well as good spectator sport. All was going well and I was comfortably in 2nd place until the pen ultimate lap when I clipped a corner damaging my servo horn affecting the steering forcing retirement, but still managing a 3rd placed finish. Overall on the day I finished 2nd.

Mike Dumas and Team Brood split

Dumas and Team Brood split

So i was reading RC Tech and i came across this thread regarding Mike Dumas started by some bitter muppet with a chip on his shoulder regarding his breach of contract with Team Brood, but i like a bit of gossip so i kept reading and it turns out that there is some truth to the rumor. The breech of contract was been confirmed by Team Brood owner Eddie O who rather unprofessionally proceeded to air his dirty laundry and to also disclose certain pay related terms of their contract. Mike hasn’t replied yet and so he shouldn’t as it isn’t anyones business but his and the party’s involved in this dispute but I’m sure the ~~petty digs~~ insightful comments will continue to be posted on this thread for some time.
