Ciccarello & D'Agnolo win Canadian Challenge

Calandra Racing Concepts are reporting on their site about their teams latest wins at the 2007 Canadian Challenge race. Paul Ciccarello, who reecntly won the Fastcats race in January, showed great pace once more to take the 19T race win, driving his CRC Carpet Knife Gen-X. In the stock class it was oval specialist Pete D’Agnolo that took the Stock class TQ and race win, proving that he is pretty quick on road courses too.

Bart Wubben wins Rd1 of Dutch EP Nats

Rd1 of Dutch EP Nats

Xray are reporting on their site about the first round of the Dutch EP National championships that took place last weekend on the famous MACH circuit in Heemstede, near Amsterdam. With Jilles Groskamp in Slovakia preparting for this weekends LRP Masters, it left the door open to reigning Dutch Champion Bart Wubben to shine which he did by taking the TQ spot. In the race Bart was once more able to show his skills by taking the win for Xray ahead of Kyosho racer Stefan Jansen in 2nd with Vasco Christiaanse taking 3rd with his Schumacher.

Ronald Voelker wins German Indoor Nats

Ronald Völker wins German Indoor Nats

The race happened 2 weeks ago already but the results and pictures from the 2007 German Indoor Nationals have only come out now. The race took place at the permanent indoor track, Hallenstrecke des Megadroms Geilenkirchen, and was open to both standard and modified classes. In the Modified class it was Ronald Voelker that took the dominant win, driving his Hot Bodies Cyclone, while 2nd position went to Xray racer Steven Weiss with 3rd position falling to the young Kyosho driver Christopher Krapp. In the standard class it was Heinz-Jurgen Kalinowski that took the win, taking 2 final wins to finish ahead of 2nd placed Patrick Pasch with 3rd spot going to to Dominik Reschke.

Chris Kerswell wins Rd1 of BRCA 19T Nats

While the Mod and 27 Turn boys were in Stafford the 19 Turn racers were having their first round of the 2007 National series at the fast flowing Snetterton track. In qualifying it was Chris Kerswell, driving the new Corally RDX Phi, that took the top qualifying spot breaking the class lap record on this way to record a very fast 22 lapper, with Yokomo racer Keith Robertson in 2nd and Schumacher driver Jonathan Dromfield in 3rd. In the finals it was an easy win for pole man Chris Kerswell in both finals and he could take the round win ahead of Keith Robertson in 2nd and Jonathan Dromfield in 3rd.

Chris Grainger wins Rd1 of BRCA Mod Nats

Last weekend saw the first round of the BRCA modified championships take place at the Stafford track. Qualifying saw World Champion Andy Moore, driving for Hot Bodies, take the pole position ahead of 2nd place Chris Grainger, driving for Yokomo, and Craig Drescher, with the pre production Associated TC5 in 3rd.

In the first final it was a clean win for Moore who finished just ahead of Xray racer Ben Cosgrove with Grainger in 3rd while in the 2nd final Moore had a coming together with Grainger, which saw Grainger knocked back to 3rd behind Moore and Drescher. Just as Drescher was gearing up for a pass on Moore, the HB driver lost drive gifting Drescher the top spot and win in front of Grainger and Jefferies in 2nd and 3rd respectively. These results compiled gave Yokomo racer Chris Grainger the round 1 win ahead of Xray driver Ben Cosgrove in 2nd and HB racer Olly Jefferies in 3rd.

Also present running at the event was the 27 Turn class which was won by Jimmy Maddison driving the TOP Scythe with Luke Hobson in 2nd and Andrew Twigger in 3rd.

Zack Barry wins Back to Back US 1/18 National Championships

Zack Barry wins Back to Back

Xray have announced that their team driver Zack Barry has just claimed back to back US National titles in 1/18th scale, when he competed last weekend at RC Madness in Enfield Ct. The event attracted over 230 entrants and Zack competed in 4 classes all of which he was highly competitve in.

In 4wd brushless class, Zack qualified in 4th, in what turned out to be the fastest and most competitive class of the whole weekend. The race began with Zack quickly moving up to second position, where he followed for several laps. The leader had a bobble allowing Zack to pass where he ran in 1st for almost the rest of the race…

French Buggy Nationals – Round 2

French Buggy Nationals - Round 2

The second round of the French Electric buggy Nationals took place last weekend at the Antibes track. Although this was the second round of the Nationals, it was the first outdoor race of the year and in qualifying it was local racer Nicolas Vouilloz that took the TQ spot in the 4wd mod class while in 2wd mod it was Carl Maignien who claimed top spot. In the 4wd mod finals it was Vouilloz, driving his JConcepts BJ4WE, that carried his form forward from qualifying to take the win ahead of Cyril Baldini with X-Factory driver Antoine Rossetti claiming the 3rd spot. In the 2wd mod finals it was Team Losi XX4 racer Carl Maignien that took the win in front of Alex Valente while Olivier Demonfumat took the final spot on the podium in 3rd.

Tiverton Nationals report by oOple

Tiverton Nationals

Last weekend saw the first round of the 2007 Electric off road nationals held at the Heazel Arena, Tivertons indoor racing venue. Jimmy and Vicky were there, racing, snapping photos and taking notes and they now have their race report online. Lots of great pictures will be online soon but in the meantime you can read about the event in which Darren Bloomfield took the win in 2wd and Lee Martin took the 4wd victory.
