Bruno Coelho crowned 4WD Buggy World Champion

The 4WD portion of last week’s 2019 IFMAR 1/10th Off-road World Championship saw Xray’s Bruno Coelho taking his second 4WD Buggy Worlds title. Held at the iconic Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia the practice sessions saw Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski scoring the fastest time in the free practice sessions with Bruno Coelho and TLR’s Dakotah Phend coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The controlled practice then saw HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk on top with the Xray duo of Ty Tessmann and Daniel Kobbevik completing the top 3. The qualifying then was a forth-and-back between Bruno and Dakotah and ultimately it was Bruno with the overall TQ from Dakotah, who piloted a TLR prototype car, while Michal came in 3rd and in front of Daniel Kobbevik. A1 then saw Dakotah taking the win after a great battle, however Bruno would fight back in A2 and A3 to take the 2019 4WD World Championship title, backing his 2015 Worlds title he took in Japan. Bezerk Pro10 Winter Series Rd3 – Report

The third and final round of the Bezerk RC Pro10 Winter Series was held at England Park Raceway last weekend. The full long track layout was again used so all the drivers could enjoy the fast flowing nature of the track. Unfortunately one of the favorites for the round win, Clayton Hughes, came to an early finish when he struck a marshall at full speed in the foot knocking him to the ground. Fortunately the marshall wasn’t injured but the car was too badly damaged to repair on the night. After three rounds of qualifying TQ went to Shannon Overson (Litesabre) with Luke Sinanian (Xray) 2nd and Scott Tapsall (Xray) 3rd. The first two finals were won by Shannon after some very close racing with Luke. In the third final Luke turned the table and ceased on a mistake from Shannon and went on to take a well earned win. The final finishing positions ended up the same as the qualifying order with Shannon getting the win over Luke 2nd and Scott 3rd with Jason Wicks and Richard Chun rounding out the top 5. The drivers are now moving onto what should be an awesome three rounds in the upcoming 73RC Summer Series.

Thanks to Shannon Overson for the report.
