Billy Fletcher joins Awesomatix factory team

Awesomatix have announced the signing of UK Stock Touring Car specialist, Billy Fletcher to their factory team. The former UK Clubman’s champion and nationals podium finisher will campaign the A800X Evo kit at all major races across England and Europe. Billy has following to say:

Happy to announce that I am heading back to the Awesomatix family and work with them on the presence in the UK. My main focus will be the 17,5T and 13,5T stock classes where the competition got massively higher during the merge of Boosted and Blinky class. Massive thanks to Max Mächler and Gareth Hollis for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with all the Awesomatix drivers.

Mauritian Electric On-road Championship Rd6 – Report

The Mauritian RLMC/MMC Electric On-road Championship recently concluded with the sixth and final round of the series. The event was again held three different classes with 1/8th BL Open being won by Mosheen Casseem from Christophe Cazin on the runner-up spot. Jovanni Appasamy came in 3rd to round out the podium at round 6.

SBS 1/10 EP Malaysian Major League Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of the SBS Major League at the SBS Speedway in Sg Buloh, Malaysia recently. The penultimate round of the series saw a hiccup with the timing software, forcing the race director to start the race later in the afternoon but with a lower than usual amount of entries finishing by the end of the day was not a concern. As in every round so far, 4WD Modified Buggy saw the most participants and this time was no different. Competition was fierce with reigning champion Bashir (Team Associated) battling against Shahrin (Xray) and Kent (Tekno) for the the win this round, however Bashir maintained his composure and grabbed the win in all the mains. Shahrin came in 2nd and Kent was 3rd.

2019/20 Australian Touring Series – Announcement

The Australian Touring Series has announced details for the new 2019/20 season. Series host Ryan Maker and race director Chris Mitchell are thrilled to be bringing the best on-road racing weekends in Australia, focusing on the fun and exciting environment seen at major international events, in a format and atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. ATS2 starts in Melbourne – October 4th-6th 2019 at the MRCCR Inc. Club in Lilydale, Victoria. Following rounds in 2020 will run through Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane – with event dates being finalised and a very special announcement coming soon. After the inaugural season, ATS2 will see some changes to the classes being offered, with 3 touring championship classes and 5 showcase classes being offered at each round, giving everyone a chance to race their favourite class. Championship classes will include Modified Touring, 13.5T Super Stock Touring and 21.5T Stock Touring with the showcase classes being 1/12th Stock, 1/12th Modified and new for 2019/20, 17.5 GT, Formula, and Pro10. Thomas Musso wins French 4WD Buggy championship

The fifth and final round of the French Electric Off-road Championship was held at the CARCA track in Noeux Les Mines over the weekend. In the 4WD Modified Buggy class it was Thomas Musso with the overall TQ, taking five of the six qualifying rounds to leave behind Renaud Savoya in 2nd and Thomas Anger in 3rd. The triple A-main events again saw Thomas Musso making a clean sweep and by taking wins in all three legs he secured the overall from Savoya and Anger. With the win at the final round, Thomas Musso also took the French 4WD Buggy National title.

2019 Schumacher GP Italy – Report

The 2019 edition of the Schumacher GP Italy was held at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Bolzano in a state of the art conference room supplemented by large pit spaces which provided great comfort for the numerous attendants. In LMP Open Modified, it was Andy Murray taking the win ahead of teammate and young gun Daniel Robins. The 3rd place went to Mattia Dall’Oca.

Davide Ongaro crowned European E-Buggy Champion

The 2019 EFRA 1/8th E-Buggy European Championship was held in Barcelona, Spain over the weekend. Team Associated’s Davide Ongaro and HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk battled it out for the overall TQ with Davide ultimately holding the upper hand, winning three of the five qualifiers while David was able to win the remaining two rounds. The three 10-minute A-mains then had Davide taking a very close win in A1 and a not-so-close victory in A2 for the early overall title from David on the runner-up spot. Davide then sat out A3, making way for SWorkz’s Juan Carlos Canas who would take the win to cement his his final podium spot from Kyosho’s Joao Figueiredo in 4th.

Matt Gonzales doubles at Surf City Classic

OCRC Raceway of Huntington Beach, California played host to the 12th annual Pro-Line Surf City Classic this past weekend, attracting over 310 entries. In 13.5T Stock Buggy it was Yokomo’s Matthew Gonzales with the overall TQ and he would also take the win in the single 10-minute A-main event, leaving behind Team Associated’s Antonio Counsil in 2nd, a lap down. TLR’s Matthew Willbilly came in 3rd some 2.8 seconds down on Antonio to round out the podium. Over in 17.5T Stock Buggy it was again Matthew with the overall TQ and win as Antonio scored another runner-up spot, 9.6 seconds behind Matty G. Team Associated’s Ezra Keller would round out the top 3 another second down.
