Knudtson doubles at DieHard RC Winter Series Rd6

Race 6 of the DieHard RC Winter Carpet Off-road Series was held at DieHard RC of Snohomish, Washington last weekend. The event brought in a staggering 193 entries in total while another 30+ novice entry showing is very promising for the future of the sport. In the 2WD Modified Buggy A-main it was Kody Knudtson with the win from the 2 spot on the grid as John Walentia, coming from P2, ended the 7-minutes race on the runner-up spot. TQ holder, Tyler Wilbur had to settle for 3rd overall.

Team Associated sign Alex Duchet

Team Associated have announced that top French and Euro Touring Series driver Alex Duchet has joined the 29-time IFMAR World Champion team. In conjunction with Ruddog Distribution GmbH and CML Distribution, Alex will be racing his Reedy-powered TC7.2 around Europe and in the ultra-competitive ETS series. Alex’s multi-year commitment will allow him to work closely with members of the staff to evolve the touring car platform and continue to deliver a quality product to our customers and racers. Ruddog Team Manager Andreas Myrberg had this to say about Alex joining the team, “To merely say I am excited about Alex joining Team Associated would be an understatement. Alex will be the perfect asset to both showing the performance of our car as well as helping to develop it further. His raw speed and dedicated approach will benefit us hugely. I am very much looking forward to working closely with him. Let’s go racing!

Hudy Indoor Championship – Report

The 6th running of the Hudy Indoor Champs was presented by ProLevel RC in their new location in the St. Louis Chesterfield mall. ProLevel RC’s newest venue is located one of St. Louis’s biggest indoor malls with hundreds of people walking by everyday. A perfect location to get some much needed exposure for the hobby of RC Racing and it is also home to the 2019 ROAR Carpet On-Road Nationals from March 7th to 10th. Racing-wise, Modified Touring is always the premier class of any event and it saw Chris Adams taking the TQ and win from Paul Lemieux and Josh Cyrul.

Keven Hebert joins Team Xpert

Team Xpert have announced the signing of top on-road racer, Keven Hebert to their team for 2019. Keven will equip his new Xray rides using Xpert’s range of high-performance competition servos and he had the following to say about the deal:

I am happy to join Xpert for 2019. I had the chance to test the servos in both my touring car and 1/12 in the last few weeks and I am very impressed with the quality of the products. I want to thank Danny at Apex RC and Willie for getting me on board.

Xray sign Keven Hebert

Xray and RC America have announced the signing of Keven Hebert to their team. The former long-time Team Associated factory driver left AE at the end of last year and has now found a new home at Xray where the former multi-time Snowbird, IICC and ROAR US National Champion will campaign the company’s T4 touring and X12 pan car platforms. Keven says:

I am very excited to start the 2019 season with Xray/RC America. I want to thank them for this opportunity to be part of a very strong team. The quality of the products and team speaks for itself and I am really looking forward to a great year of racing! See you all very soon at the race track.

2018/19 Essex Winter Series Rd3 – Report

The 2018/19 Essex Winter Series marked the half way point this weekend with the third round of the championship. With Elliott Harper and Olly Jefferies tied on points at the top of the championship, both were looking to get their 2019 campaigns off to a strong start. However, there was some surprise in the first qualifier when Elliott broke his Xray on lap two, it wasn’t Olly who took the lead of the group, but Associated’s Matthew White. Matt maintained his composure and took the round by a few tenths of a second over Olly’s Schumacher, with Kyle Branson taking third with his Capricorn chassis. Chris Grainger showed the improvements the Associated team had found by backing up his team-mate and taking fourth, with privateer Stefan Chodzynski rounding out the top five.

Xray & RC America sign Brandon Clements

Xray have announced that US top driver, Brandon Clements is joining the RC America and Xray racing team for 2019. The IIC 17.5T, CTS Modified, 17.5T and Formula champion will campaign the company’s T4 touring and X1 formula platforms at major events around the country and he had the following to say about the deal:

I couldn’t be more pleased to announce that I have joined the Xray team. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Xray and RC America for this exciting opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with my new teammates and contribute to the continued development of the Xray T4 and X1 platforms. See you all at the track!

PLMS Xray Racing Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of Polish PLMS Xray Racing Series was held in Scinawka Srednia recently. The schedule saw five rounds of qualifying followed by triple mains for everyone. The track was laid out with black high-grip carpet and the perfectly flat surface made for some quality racing. In Modified, Jirka Vysin made his comeback to RC racing in style and took the overall win from Jakub Michalski and Jarosław Siwek, all piloting Xray cars.
