Over the past four months Thornhill Racing Circuit held their 6-race 2018 Thornhill Jr Spring Series. Xray’s Ethan Lefebvre won four of the six rounds for the overall, eventually securing the title already after round 4 that he would finish on the 2nd place. Xray teammates, Chris Allison and Lance Myhre would end the series on the P2 and P3 overall for an Xray podium sweep.

The second round of this year’s Cup of Russia was held in Moscow recently. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class Alexander Pavlovsky brought hime the win from Ilya Plakhotnik and Mikhail Baldin. Over in 1/8th E-Buggy it was Alexander Kosmakov with the win from Mikhail Gofshtein 2nd and Alexandros Stefanescu 3rd.
The 2018 LRP Masters Italy were recently held at the CAR Genova track in Pegli. The event attracted some of Italy’s fastest electric on-road racers and kicked off on Friday with free practice. Saturday saw more free practice followed by a re-seeding practice for the Touring and Formula classes while the Truck race was entirely held on Saturday, ending under the floodlights for that special atmosphere. The class was won by Marco Puleo, from Andrea Valerio and Simone Zanon in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The 5th Annual Quebec Classic race will be held from the 23rd to 26th of August near Montréal in QC, Canada. The event will see the attendance of reigning IFMAR World Champion, David Ronnefalk and 2014 World Champ, Ty Tessmann and it will be held in 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, 40+ Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy categories as well as 1/10th 2WD, 4WD and Pro4 SC classes. The Pro-Line Mid Summer Shootout was held at Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway last weekend and it was TLR’s Sammy Moran that would sweep the ultra competitive 13.5 Wheeler and 17.5T Expert Buggy classes. Eliot Watson (Tekno) in 2nd and Wayne Wyrick (TLR) in 3rd would round out the 13.5T 4WD podium as the TLR duo of Ty Owings and Wayne Wyrick completed the 17.5T Expert Buggy podium.

The 3rd round of the Schumacher BTCC incorporating the KO GP took place this last weekend at West London. Fine weather throughout saw some close racing with the drivers battling some hot tarmac. Schumacher’s Elliott Harper carried on his form from the last race with an excellent TQ and win in the Modified class. Elliott was followed closely by Xray’s Olly Jefferies and Team Associated driver, Matt White took 3rd overall.

The newly resurfaced Raco2000 track in Utrecht, The Netherlands played host to round 3 of this year’s RC Lemans Series this past weekend. The track work was finished only two weeks before the event and both club and drivers did their best to make best out of the still slippery track conditions. In the swift LMP1 Modified class the Altmann brothers were a step ahead of the others and both battled for the TQ spot. Both were in a league of their own, being about a lap faster than the other drivers. In the end Kai took the TQ from Tim with a 2-seconds margin. Patrick Vannieuwenhyse came in 3rd in front of Reinder Wilms and Joachim Behnken. Tim also broke the track record by nearly four tenths of a second, setting a blistering 13.275.

Last weekend the second round of the Norwegian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at Hof Raceway, located some 45 minutes out off Norway’s capital of Oslo. It has been extremely hot in Norway the past weeks which meant challenging conditions and a hard-packed track with a lot off bumps but the club did its best to make the best out of it. Saturday started off with four qualification rounds for nitro, and Xray factory driver Daniel Kobbevik won three out of four qualifiers meaning the overall TQ in front of Xray’s Lars Erik Moe as Kyosho’s Danny Kwiatkowski came in 3rd.
