Gassauer wins 12th Annual Frankfurt Ice Speedway

The 12th Annual Frankfurt Ice Speedway race was held at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany this past weekend. Limited to a total of 50 entries the race was sold out within a couple of hours after sign-in started and as usual the event was held using HPI Super EP chassis, oldschool brushed motors and LRP NiMH batteries, all sponsored by the hosting MBC Goldstein club. A single three minute practice was followed by ten rounds of head-to-head racing in random 5-car legs. At the end the best five drivers proceeded into the A-main, place six to ten into the B-main and so on. As usual the race attracted a nice mix of internationally experienced drivers and local racers and it was ETS finalist and 3-times winner, Patrick Gassauer, who made a clean sweep in the legs to take the TQ from Daniel Anthes and Daniel Koch. Justin Gefeller and Alexander Beck complete the A-main grid. In the finals Patrick was less dominant but he still took the overall win and with it his fourth Frankfurt Ice Speedway title. Daniel Anthes, who scored a single win, came in second from local hero, Daniel Koch, who also took a win in the finals.

Luke Pittman wins at the Big Chill

Luke Pittman wins at the Big Chill

The Big Chill went down in Chilliwack, BC, Canada in early November and Xray’s Luke Pittman made the trip to represent team Xray and RC America.  The track layout was very fast and flowing and allowed for some excellent racing which was seen in all classes.  The Touring Stock class was sponsored by ORCA who provided their new RT 17.5 for all entrants as a hand-out motor, creating an even playing field among all those who entered.  Motors were randomly picked during registration and racers were free to change timing and gearing as they wanted.  Pittman left the timing at the recommended setting and ran the recommended gearing of 3.72.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd7 – Report

Belgian SCT Cup Rd7 – Report

The last race of the 2016 Belgian SCT season was organized at the famous offroad indoor track “Blackcounty Arena”, which hosted an EOS race some years ago. The clay track they had last year is now covered with astroturf providing higher grip but keeping the natural elevations and underneath bumps. The layout has been revised as well and is really fun to drive. The Pro4 title was already decided before this race, but the Pro2 was still open with Nicolas Evens (TLR 22SCT) and Géry Ledocq (Kyosho SC6) tied on points in the series ranking.
